I'll bite. I have the origanal and i just pre-orderd the black arcee this morning from bbts and i like the mold enough to try this one to. Just hoping that its not to over priced.

 

Hmm...if movie molds can be used for convention exclusives in Japan, could the same hold true for America (and hence, the Botcon 2008 boxset?)

 

well I said this before, but in this example, arcee isnt' a licensed mold. she wasn't IN the movie. but, japan's laws and US's laws are completely different, and you're also talking a completely different company as well.

 

I'll bite.. still need to track down a pre-order for the black one too... oh well.  

 

Looks nice, but not worth the high price it's sure to fetch. Oh well, sooner or later Hasbro will do their own version of it.

 

Wasn't the bike that Josh Dummal rode in the movie "supposed" to be Arcee? I remember Aaron Archer saying something about her being scrapped at the last moment during the Botcon Hasbro tour...

I don't know how he preordered it this morning as it's been sold out for awhile. Not unless someone canceled theirs and he scooped that one up and they sold out again.

Thats what i think happend. I didn't even know they had a pre-order until someone mentiond it in another thred so i kept checking to see if a preorder opend up. Same thing happend with BT Mirage.

 

Arcee was supposed to be in the movie. She was in an early script, and there are concept designs of her movie robot and vehicle modes.

However, she was eventually written out of the movie, both because the screenwriters didn't want to spend time addressing the purpose of a "female" robot, and because Bay considered her robot mode waaaay too small. She was replaced with Ironhide.

But she wasn't scrapped "at the last moment". When the scene featuring Lennox doing that motorbike stunt was written, Arcee already wasn't part of the script anymore. However, the screenwriters agreed that the bike in that scene WOULD have been Arcee if she HADN'T been written out.

Also, the motorbike used by Lennox in the movie is a different model than the one Arcee is based on.

Or maybe... just MAYBE... some people actually like them and want them for that reason. Crazy, I know.

I must've missed when you were under her. Every post about Arcee from you I've ever seen has been of the "meh" variety.  

 

 

And as you can see there's no Big Sight in sight (no pun intended). The line was longer than pictured.
