A heartwarming, but slightly surreal story: Booger the pit bull is back! All five of him... - Yahoo! News UK

Thoughts anyone? I'm not sure what to think of this... Nice to see someone so attached to a pet, but this is a little extreme!

Seriously, how many cloned humans do you think are out there? I'm guessing over 100.

    Officially, it's 0.

    Unofficially, it's still 0.

Unless we're talking identical twins or the nutters at Clonaid...

Or the Raelians. They claimed they cloned somebody, didn't they?

Next step, combining the DNA of all of history's fastest, strongest, and smartest dogs into one cloned specimen - Serpenterrier!

Wow. There are hundreds of thousands of dogs/puppies she could adopt to give a good home, rather than lose your house to clone a dog. I understand the attachment, but still..don't even get started on the ethicality of cloning...

It probably would have been cheaper just to buy a dog (or five) that looked like Booger.

She does understand that it's not the same dog, and that each of the clone's personality and temperament will be different, right?

Those things aren't the same dog, he's dead and gone forever.

What are the chances she had Booger BBQ'd? I mean, she did go to Korea.

Your dog is dead. Get over it.

Sorry, I had to bold that for emphasis. There's being attached to something, then there's being attached... And I hate dogs tbh.

I can understand the pain at losing a pet. I can even understand cloning said pet if the technology was available. However, it's NOT the same pet. Sure at a genetic level it might be, but you will never be able to have your true friend back. He's gone, to clone him and then treat the clone the same is not honorable to your friend.

I lost my dog earlier this year so I can understand her, but 50,000$ for a cloned dog that won't act like her previous one, won't remember what he learned, and just won't be the same dog in the end is not worth it imo. The science part of it is cool though, successful cloning and all.

But there's these person that let their animal inherit huge fortune when they die, so yeah, people do love animals a bit too much sometime :p

...Why'd she have to get five of them, anyway? It's gonna cost 5x more than the original dog.

Damn, I wonder how they arrived at that price. Like, was it 5000 pounds each, or 25000 for as many as you want?
