After reading the article, the arrest actually does make sense. It's still weired that a person would do that just because of something that happend on something like that. It's kinda sad that there are people out there that would take something like that seriously.

Edit: Technically she was arrested for suspicion hacking. Also:

    teh interwebs is super cereal

It's that dumb Maple Story again. I used to play that, but it got boring and the communities there are retarded, ignorant and selfish. This is both tragic and funny, as Starscream would put it.

A woman killing her husband in real life just because of something as trivial as getting divorced without being told about it, I can see that a good enough reason for her to get arrested. But a woman killing some guy on an online game and getting arrested for it? It's just wrong... what you do in a game should not be considered a crime. It's like playing Grand Theft Auto and being arrested for "stealing" cars.

I think the article meant she deleted the guy's entire character from the server. It's an MMORPG, so he'd have lost months or maybe years of effort and the money spent on that character.

It's not the fact that she killed his digital character that got her arrested, it's them thinking she hacked the game to do so, which makes sense (at least that's what I got out of the article...). Either way it's still funny, and I agree, the guy is a bit of a puss for complaining to the police about that.

    That too makes sense.

Whoop dee doo. This happens all the time in World of Warcraft. Someone clicks on a dumb link and gets a keylogger virus, and the next thing they know all their characters are gone. Unlike Maple Story, you pay a monthly fee so your account is worth more than a pathetic Maple Story account. Do people get arrested? No.

Guy should've changed his password when he 'divorced' her. Like when you change the locks after punting a scary girlfriend who still has a key to your house.
If she got the info from him when they were together he was probably dumb enough to have given it to her. It's definitely not hacking.
She should just have her character deleted too and then it'll all be square and done with.
At least it all happened online. If it had been in the real world she'd have probably stoved his skull in with a brick.

How can it be considered hacking when she knew the password?
