Watched it tonight. Should've just waited for it to show up on cable.
I know I'm not a mod anymore and I don't think I'm that drunk but doesn't this go in the movie forum?
However, was it really that bad? You're the second person to say so.
Yeah, Wolverine wasn't accurate to the lineart.
the only thing stopping me from seeing this is how much damage hollywood has done to deadpool
Woah, when did that happen?
<- blind, apparently.
I liked it. I even got the Deadpool ending. This gave me hopes for future films because...
1. Deadpool could talk again, and broke the freaking fourh wall too!
2. It seems he couldn't use much of his powers without Striker. So I'm assuming he'll go back to his old self, just hideously deformed.
3. Rumors are spreading that Fox has a Deadpool movie in the works.
Besides, Deadpool was funny and awesome before he was mutated! Everything else was sweet too (Agent Zero became one of my favorites). If Deadpool stayed dead, yeah, I'd be pissed. But he didn't, and Wolverine, Sabretooth, and Gambit were kickass too. Blob was cool, just wish we got to see more of him.
(However, Sabretooth calling Wolverine Jimmy DID get on my nerves)
Forgot about the movie forum since I rarely post in there.
But yeah. It was rather horrible.
Only parts I did like were Wade before the treatment and Gambit was alright. Oh the fight with Creed,Logan, and Wade was alright. Otherwise? Crap.
I've heard nothing but how horrible it is so maybe that softened me up and made me go easy, but I liked it. I wasn't in love with every second, no, but overall I left satisfied. The whole matter of AHHH FUCK THEY CHANGED SHIT wasn't a big deal for me so I could just sort of sit back and watch the movie without worrying about it.
You know, I was really pissed when they changed so much in the first X-Men movie. Since then I'm kind of over worrying about those things. Of course, I love it when these adaptations stay really close to the source just as much as anyone, but I don't really flip out when they stray. In the comic world itself, backstories and continuity are often in flux and there's all kinds of alternate universes and one-off stories that aren't in this or that canon anyway. I look at these movies as an extension of that.
True, but the characters always stay the same. Big difference. There is always something familiar about the character. Their traits and what we love about them are still there.
Only seen the work print so far, but honestly I felt the movie was fine (if slightly riffable)...so long as you could get over Deadpool. And I certainly don't fault anyone that couldn't.
Yeah. Deadpool was fine as Wade in the beginning. Then it went all south.
I think the whole Deadpool thing is just an angle to make it seem an "atrocity" of sorts put onto him by Stryker, who's meant as the big antagonist of the thing. I feel maybe they weren't necessarily saying "ahahaha this is what we think Deadpool is", but "oh shit this guy is a righteous bastard for fucking around with mutants like this" instead. If Deadpool had just walked out all tricked out with new powers and no mouth like that with no explanation, ok, maybe that would've screwed with my head a little more.
Of course, you can still see it that way and not like it, but for me, I think that works for this version of the story.
I really enjoyed the movie. I felt it was on par with the first two X-men movies and better than the third (which I felt was an ok film at best). Saw it twice and SO wish I got the Deadpool ending... both times I got the bar Japanese bar scene...
Just saw Wolverine tonight. It's not too bad. I've seen worse movies (Dragonball Evolution IMMEDIATELY comes to mind). I really liked this movie's Sabertooth. He really had way more charisma than Tyler Mane did, and he acted a lot more like I expect Sabertooth to act. As for Deadpool....eeehhhh. He would have been ok if A) they had that first scene in Africa with him and then never used him again, or B) he was anyone other than Deadpool. The super-deadly final boss thing is fine, but that ain't Deadpool.
All things considered, I probably won't see it again.
I liked it better than the clusterfuck that was X3.
Didn't know about the multiple endings, what was the Deadpool ending?
supposedly there is another ending i guess after the credits where instead of logan sittin in a bar in japan you see wade at the island finding weapon XI dead and asking himself who it is
i thought this was bs when i heard about it, is it true? coz i seen it twice now in different cinemas and got the same ending, if its true then im very pissed off because thats unfair to give some people one film and others another version, i would have been much happier with the deadpool end
Another one's with 'Pool grabbing his head, and then his head goes, "Shhhh...." to the audience. Somehow his mouth was unsewn/unglued/whatever-it-is.
sorry for the double post but i found this on a forum somewhere, i didnt film the video so dont blame me for the annoying bloke who wont shut up.
