I seem to recall hearing that there was going to be a solo Wolverine movie sometime after X3, but I'm having a hard time finding any information on it (for example, I originally read that it was supposed to be a 2008 film, but Marvel.com doesn't even so much as mention it (unlike Hulk and Ironman)). So did this idea get scrapped? Is it something we won't actually see till 2009 or later? Anybody have any info on this? I get the feeling its either scrapped, or delayed, but maybe they're just trying to keep it under wraps?

Man, why doesn't Marvel have anything about it on their site? Usually they're all for pimping out the Wolverine character ... unless its there and I missed it. Any word on who all is supposed to be in it (characters or actors; I'm not picky here)?

Personally, I would like the movie to take place in Japan. Then we could have Silver Samurai. Also, it would make it a little different, compared to the X-Men movies.

    Doubt it'll happen, though.

With all the oversatuation he gets thesedays, its easy to forget or overlook that allot of Wolverine's solo stuff in the 80s and early 90s was actually pretty good and different enougth from the main X-Men books to be worth reading. They could easily get a couple of half decent movies out of that material, althougth I expect it'll just be more of the same stuff as the previous movies instead.

Oh yeah, I know. The main reason I think Japan would be good, is because it would be a complete change of scenery. Plus you can have Wolverine fighting ninjas, which is always good.

The script writer hired is said to be a comic fan and read Claremont/Miller's Wolverine limited series from 1982, and the later 'Weapon X' from Barry Windsor-Smith to prepare for writing Wolverine, so that's a good sign.

Actually according to contracts, both Fox and Sony have to keep making movies with in a certain amount of time or Marvel get the movie rights back. Wolverine is going to be the subsitute x-men movie and they have to make a spider-man 4 or lose the rights. I think marvel may be getting Daredevil back soon, they already have control over the Hulk again. First up are Iron man and Hulk, Followed by Thor, Ant-Man and Captain America, then they are doing an Avengers movie with all of them. To counter Warner Bros is planning Justice League and Teen Titans movies. We may actually see it before the next Superman movie.

Ah-ha! They snuck it in there under X-men! Pretty sneaky ... least now I know where to look for it.

616 Sabretooth doesn't even act like Sabretooth any more (and then, well, you know), I have little hope for the movie character.
