Still ahven't seen How To Train Your Dragon because I still think the designs of the characters look like crap.

But since peole keep commentin that it's the best DreamWorks has ever done(which doesn't say much) but I dunno.....I guess I'll see it when it comes out on DVD...

I just hope this doesn't turn out like Shrek. That franchise is going deeper down the toilet with every new film...

The first film was pretty good, I hope it doesn't take the Shrek route and have inferior movies as the franchise goes on though.

Yeah I agree. The movie was entertaining without the need of the culture pops and toilet humor. And the Dragon didn't talk. Risky Dreamworks.. risky.

    Why?

I'm just not feeling them. Some of the Dragons look kinda nice but the main black one just looks like a flat fish to me...

And the overall characters just look generic and uniteresting to me...

Maybe I'm just not in the mood for Dragons I will see it eventualy just not interested right now...

I just hope that it's at least half as good as Chasseurs de dragons

I love how they give slight hints of a cat/dog when the Toothless' personality. It's nice to see DW make the animal not talk and let animation give away his personality. You should give it a chance. It's not Shrek-like at all.

After Harry Potter and Twilight, you're surprised someone wants to make movies based off a series of books?

And there's 8 books. You left out "How to Train Your Viking".

If they absolutely MUST have a flagship series, have Madagascar. Wasn't too bad at all.

I agree, Shrek the Third sucked. 2 was great, IMO.

I agree about a few of the human designs, I didn't like their convoluted costumes and stock expressions. But the dragon designs were just incredible. Really top notch. It's perhaps the sharpest looking Dreamworks film to date.

Dreamworks are known for ugly and tasteless designs, but this was a cut above.

The rendering was superb, none of the hideous textures of Shrek, the textures here were subtle and aesthetically appropriate.

I still haven't seen the first film yet. But since people like it so much, I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD.
