Upgrades for existing things made by third parties are exceedingly common. Whether they be simple old CrazyDevy crap, or the full on good stuff like City Commander and Protector, and Battle Tanker, they are popular. So, why havn't they done this for the exceedingly obvious? Thunderwing. Holy shit. I would pay so much money for an upgrade for my Thunderwing. All the fandom does is complain about how small he is, and how feeble he looks compared to his comic counterpart. So, please, Fansproject... or Maketoy... or whoever... Turn this: Into this: And I will be your friend forever. This concludes my rant. Also, get cracking on that Bob.
I really don't see how an armor upgrade for the existing mold is possible. The proportions simply don't allow for a convincing expansion. The best thing you could do is have the Generations version sit Pretender-style inside an even bigger body. Or swap out the limbs and vehicle kibble from the existing figure with new ones that replicate that comic design better, but then he'd still be small (bigger, but not much bigger). In either case, you're pretty much making an entirely new figure anyways.
Yeah, that's the problem, he needs to be like Leader sized. So not sure what the hell they can do to him. Plus I hate huge addons that take a ball jointed figure and add a shit load of weight to it. Doesn't do great things for articulation.
Well, actually, it looks to me like there's plenty that can be done... His thighs are already pretty long for his shins, so legs parts there to make him taller and fill out sillouhette are possible. A brand new head. His arms are pretty measley, I think that that can be swapped out entirely. His chest/torso is already very blocky and filled out, so any limb additions wouldn't really look out of place. He has those peg holes on the backs of his wings which opens up all kinds of possibilities. For you guys saying Thunderwing wouldn't work with an upgrade? Well, I said the same for RTS Laser Optimus. And looked what happened there.
