with all the g1 knock offs that seem to come out is anyone really going to buy them. what i mean is it seems that chinese toy makers are just trying to make a few bucks off sites like ebay by selling the toys as if they were the real thing. if anyone buys them it probably be someone who thinks they are getting deal just to make more off ebay. just my opinion but i am curious if they will make a knock off fort max.

Actually there is a niche market for KOs & collectors that actually seek them out. I myself rather enjoy the oddly colored or over/under sized KO. Especially the ones from the Alt/BT line that are painted to represent charicters that didn't get any love in the line.

Personally hate KOs. Would be fine but it makes it extremely difficult to find geniune G1 toys.

I picked up a set of ko Dinobots last year from yahobby. They're in just as good shape or better than the originals I had, plus they're complete! You just have to look around and try to avoid the cheaply done ones.

They already did, well, if you like Brave Max :D
Not really a knock off I know, it's bad though.

I'm curious about those myself. What's different about them from the originals? Decent plastic and stickers? How much for all 5?

I absolutely hate them and because of it I am dumping my collection!!!! Yes of course I am not serious. I love knockoffs. I really do not want knockoffs that are too close to the original and would much rather have something different in color or what ever. The weirder the better. I do believe that we as a community need to help educate each other. I have done a few tutorials to spot knockoffs that are being passed as originals. I feel the fandom has NO PLACE for scammers who try to pass knockoffs as originals. As long as this is not a problem I say go for it. More tranformers the better. I am not the type of person who is worried that the original is going to be worth less because someone knocks if off. Get over it, hopefully you guys collect them for other reasons like I do.

I'm thinking about getting a KO or two myself. Is it too late to get G1 Mirage? Looking forward to Sunstreaker. My biggest issue is, of course, the price. G1 KO Shockwave is $85 plus $15 shipping. Ouch.

Bring them on. I have to agree I love the Alts/BT KOs as long as they're well made. The Alt Prowl KOs that came out a little while back were awesome, and the KO mustangs where not to bad either, with a little tightening of screws and panel adjustments. I've made about 6-7 cutsoms from the KO Mustangs.

Oh and as soon as someone decides to release a Diaclone Bluestreak, I'll be all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake.

KO's are sometimes good for the accessories or boxes. In general, the plastic quality is bad and breaks easily. I got a KO Computron and that was a waste aside from the parts for kitbashing. However, I might be tempted to get some KO binaltechs...

I have nothing against the idea of KO's but I have been disappointed by the ones I have. Based on that I do not buy them now.

How is the quality of a KO like the G1 Dinobots or cars?

I'd buy a bunch of all the 'mold is lost/destroyed' G1 figures if I wasn't worried about quality. A Devastator knock-off would certainly tempt me at the right price though.

Many have said the molds were lost on many G1's. If so, how are they remaking Sunstreaker and some of the others?

Molds are the same, just crappy plastic??????????
