Tommorow I have another Job Interview. It is with American Income in Jeffersonville, IN. That is about 2 hours drive. Gonna have to get up early, get showered, shaved and all. Then do a quick toy hunt here and then head there. Afterwords I get to have fun and toy hunt in new grounds for me. I got about 6-7 places mapped out around Jeffersonville and Louisville. Not hitting them all because I will need to get back home to eat, watch House, then go pick my parents up at the airport. They are coming home from their 2 week trip to Italy. I hope I at least find some new toys I want on the trip. Also will pick up Al and listen to him in the car.
Good luck! I know what it's like looking for work... heck, I'm doing it right now, instead of actually working... bah, last day friday...
Good luck Word of caution though, just to avoid confusion. It's not by chance American Income Life Insurance is it? Because if it is be careful, I got called in for an interview with a company called American Income Life that advertised an $80K per year salary. Catch was it was all commission meaning no sale, no cash. And at least IIRC they provide you with the leads so. Not trying to discourage you because you never know you might have a nack for it. But at least be informed MOST importantly ask about the training as you'll need to get you're Life Insurance license which is costly. You'll need to find out 1)Requirements of the training 2)Price of the training and 3)Whether or not American Income pays for training or if it's out of pocket. Knock 'em dead tomorrow champ and good luck. If you feel you got the mojo, then I say go for it
Yes it is American Income Life insurance. Oh great... Well crap. I do NOT want a totally commission work job. Oh well at least I will get a toy hunt out of it.
I'm really sorry to tell you that, as I know you're looking for work applicable to your Management major. And here are some threads on Monster Canada's job board to validate. To show I'm not making this up, American Income is also listed on RipoffReports.com Essentially it'll be a self-employment opportunity that's commission based like I said.
Wonder if I should even go.. It isn't a job I'd really care to have from the sounds of it. Maybe I should call tommorow and cancel. I could still go to Louisville and toy hunt.. Edit: Ok after reading those Ripoff reports I am definately cancelling. I'll go and shop for a few hours but no way in hell would I work with that place. I read one that the guy's leads dried up very quickly and soon was only getting $50 for two weeks work. Yikes! I want a management job, not a sales job. I need to take sales off. I've had crap potential hiring. Had a car salesman position but I had to pay to take a course and that type of job is real iffy. Had the vaccum sales position. Had a potential job that sold insurance at another, but didn't pass the test about "on a scale of 1-5 how would you rank ....... " Kinda like a personality/mindset test. Now this. Crap. I need a good office job like at Atlas Van Lines or American General Finance.. I want my own cubical and inspirational poster on the wall. I want a steady paycheck I can count on.
Pretty much, yeah. I'm doing a rotation now where its just clinic. Biggest snoozefest around. I see why House hates it.
Someone didn't read the entire thread.. Basically I learned this company is not someplace one would want to work. It is all commission and very hard to earn any money. I'm cancelling the interview.
It took me a year of working with a similar company to learn that lesson. I got enticed by Primerica Financial with the promises of big money. I just didn't want Rattrap007 to make the same mistake I did I've actually been offered a few jobs like this. Where the product I'm selling isn't made clear to me. Or what the scope of my duties are. You know those people who go from office to office with a box full of swag. I NEARLY applied for a job like that. But research saved me from making a HUGE mistake
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble on the job hunt, rattrap. I'm still in the hunt myself. I'm in the Pittsburgh metro area, and all I can get interviews for are staffing agencies that can't find me anything. And on the sub-topic, House is awesome. He's one of Stephen Colbert's heroes, which is awesome too.
