Actually, I tried it and the Galvatron cannon from the tank does clip on to the arm tabs but it doesn't hold on as well as the Megatron cannon. It also hangs a little low for my liking. The tip of the barrel almost touches his feet. Also, there is no way to attach it in alt mode without a bit of modding. Hmm, I might look into adding that cannon but I will get the robot finished first. The Megatron cannon will be getting a new paint job in Galvatron colors btw.

I also took a look at the "ruined" Megatron head. Surprisingly, the screw holds the head perfectly in place. God knows why Hasbro glued it together. However, this now gives me a spare "battle damaged" Megatron head. I look forward to using it.

 

I highly respect all the radicons here and I would like your opinion. What looks better? WFC Megatron's BFG or the Universe Galvatron weapon (taken from the POS Galvatron repaint).





On closer inspection, I can easily modify the Universe Galvatron cannon to attach in both modes.

 

The orange Cannon looks better, but it should be on his upper arm if you can do it.

I was going to ignore this mold, but now I might have to get it to try this.
I think the head is too small though... I'm thinking with mine I might
add sculpt to the head and hollow out more room in the chest.... does it

I would like to do that but I don't have the necessary tools to pull it off. I haven't been able to find a dremel (or similar) where I currently am. The best I can manage is an sharp knife and that isn't enough to perform the modifications you suggested.

 

Same here. Just got a hold of my second WFC Megatron the other day. Ordered my spare Galvatron for the head today.

I have a plan for mine when I get it here.

Makes sense. At the very least, it should be very distinctive when you repaint the megacannon in Galvy colors.

 

Be prepared to do a bit of work getting Megatron's head off if you want to keep it in usable condition. I look forward to seeing what you have planned.

Yeah, I am getting both cannons done up in Galvatron colors and will see what looks best. However, as the Emperor of destruction, would he be opposed to two weapons, one on each arm? i could put the classic cannon on the right arm and the BFG on the left. That would make Rodimus think twice

Awesome update! Use the WFC canon. It's more powerful looking. Just paint it orange.

 

Well I still think its cool no matter if you used the old Galvatron cannon or WFC Megatron's BFG.

 

Galvatron is almost done. I have painted the BFG and it looks much more impressive than the puny arm cannon from Universe Galvatron (yet another failure of the Universe release), However, I do like the look of him with both cannons on this arms, I just wish I could incorporate both into the alt mode. I had considered using the Universe one as a swivel turret but I am not able to pull it off.

I need to touch up some of the sloppy paint work and fix some bits that have flaked, then get it sealed. He should be finished this weekend but I will try to get a new picture of the almost completed Galvatron uploaded before then.
