    I am the WIP King!!

In my continuing stream of ideas, not a lot of stuff gets to the final stage, but here are a few of the projects I've been playing with lately.

    "new" Classics Onslaught
I'm currently trying to put together some Classics Combaticons. I like Universe Onslaught... I really do. But somehow, he doesn't quite nail the feeling of G1 Onslaught for me. I have other plans for that Universe mold, so to fill the gap in my Classic lineup, I've started work on my own taller, leaner, truck-based version.

At the moment I've only gotten as far as mapping out the transformation getting the parts together. I'm also planning to have him combine with my other Combaticons, with as few add-on parts as possible... so I've got my work cut out for me!

    Classics Blitzwing
I've started work on this twice now. First I was using an oversize KO RM Reverse Convoy to build a fairly IDW-based Blitzwing... which seemed like it was going to work fairly well. But then I got TFA Blitzwing, which I really like. I think there's potential there for a more "classic" Blitzwing.

Obviously he'll need some work to make him look less cartoonish. So far I've just decided to swap the head, adjust the wings, and give him a single-cannon turret, but it seems promising...

    What do you guys think?

EDIT: Credit where credit is due! I almost forgot to point out that the head for Onslaught is from Sculpt-Bot's head sale! I'm not sure who that head was initially supposed to be, but he makes a darn good Onslaught! :)

    Thanks! :)

The Blitzwing head is from a junker G1 Pretender core robot... Finback I think. I'd love to find me some more pretenders... their heads are a great size for Deluxe-Voyager sized kitbashes!

love both, you totally took the crazy cartoon feel from blitz with the head change already.
and great use of the armada prime parts.

is that the Voyager or deluxe one's arms and legs?

i would like to see your single turret modification. i hate the tank mode on blitzwing and that would help fix it in my eyes. not sure how you are going to erase the toon aspect but i look forward to see your approach there. i have animated blitzwing and i will be damned if i can figure out what to do with him. i had an idea to turn him into another character then found out Hasbro was going to release it :(

oh and i see alot of potential in your onslaught are you going to make him a trailer or just the cab alone?

All of them are dope concept. I particularly like the TFA Blitzwing, though. With some more work, that would be a great Classics figure.

    Awesome! Awesome!

While I love Universe Onslaught your bash looks sweet.

I'm planning on making a G1 Blitzwing out of Animated Blitzwing as well. That said, with the way the head looks like its attatched, how do you transform him into his altmodes?

Both looking top-notch! I'm especially liking your idea of using Armada Prime for Onslaught. And that looks like Twin Twist's chest plate on him. How does that work in the transformation? It looks like it'd stick out too far in truck mode and stop it from rolling...

I've always wanted to see someone take a TFA Blitzwing and make it into a Classics/Universe style custom. Onslaught looks great too.

Great starts on both!! I think Blitzwing has real potential for the Classics the way you got him! The tank mode on TFA Blitzwing is totally wonky, that'll be your biggest challenge! I have faith in you, though!:thumb

Now Onslaught, on the other hand, ! I'm with you on Classics Onslaught, great figure but it just doesn't say Onslaught to me! That's why I have not been able to bring myself to buy him yet (that and my empty pockets)!

Your version has the makings to be my favorite yet! I am drawing a blank on the base figger though.:dunce  Is is Scourge? Can't seem to recall at the moment.

Anyway, great job on both so far, and you may have come up with a good answer to a Classics Blitzwing!:thumbs2:

Ahh yes!! I see it now, it threw me off because of the G1 Onslaught chestplate and the Jumpstarter front torso! Good eye Rhinox555!

And now I'm even more impressed and anxious to see this custom!

I think it's the Costco exclusive version that came packaged with the yellow Overload.

Hmm. That's why I didn't recognize it. Some people prefer Costco, while I have always enjoyed BJs :) p)
