This is a simple start on his head. It's lacking lots of details and gizmos. The inside of his head is a place holder for now.

There is a 2D concept, but it's rough. I'll probably post it when the 3D version is complete.

That does look cool, but not movie-verseish enough. It needs lots more crazy bends and angles and fiddly bits all over the place. On top of that, it looks way more like G1 Ironhide than HotRod.

Okay, just starting the layout on the torso. This is the pre-kibbles and bits phase, so things might look a little G1-ish. It will change.

As for the similarities to Ironhide, yeah, the G1 toys had similar looking heads to begin with, and I'm trying to build upon the original G1 design with Bay elements, rather than the other way around.

Still trying to figure out how to practically incorporate flames onto him.... you don't really see flame-jobs on modern sportscars. You don't see many orange and red sports cars driving around either. I may sneak it in, in a way you wouldn't expect.

    PS, Alt mode, Ford GR-1.

Looks great. Can't wait to see more of this design. I find that the head is a bit interesting as well. Trying to make him resemble his g1/animated counterpart?

this is looking good so far, I can't wait to see more. I wish I was good at using these kind of programs. I can make avatars all day but doing this kind of work is fantastic.

    O.O
once the gizmos/details are on, Bay can't not put this guy in the third movie =D...i will be disappointed if he doesn't appear in it
about the flames, instead of trying to put stylish/artistic flames you can try putting on some almost real looking jetting bbq/torch flames coming out the vents on the hood and sides to make him look too hot to touch =)
btw...how did the brake lights turn yellow XD
