Hi, I like the Shockwave figure, but felt he was missing something, a waist!

So I went about giving him one. Sorry no early WIP pictures, as I was in a rush to get this done.

First I diassembled Shockwave as much as I could, three screws and you're away.

I used three Lego parts (two short cylinders and a technic Lego connector) as the waist. The combined the parts don't fit into Shockwaves cavity, so I had to dremel them down a bit, as well as dremel some plastic out of Shockwaves body.

Once the Lego pieces fit and lined up where I wanted his waist to go I screwed the body back together and started sawing...

Once done I used some Evo-stik High tech putty to hold the lego in place. This putty is packed as component parts, when kneaded together it activates it and sets like stone. Crucially I can apply directly with my hands.

Anyway, this is the first time I've attached pictures directly to TFW, heres hoping it works...

Anyway, once set I reassembled the sucker and done!

He needs a tidy up, some gaps need extra filler, the filler itself needs painting to mask it. But right now he's done for the night.

His space train mode is unaffected, but crucially he can adopt the best looking space gun mode without popping his legs off all the time. Just twist the waist and hey presto!

Once he's all touched up I can take more pictures if people are interested.

Feels like classics drift all over again.

Awesome mod! I was thinking of giving mine the same thing when I first started playing with it.

Any chance of doing a pic tutorial? Thanks dude. :)
