hi guys. just wanted to show you what im working on and maybe you guys can help me with your opinions and suggestions

working on FOC protectobots.... same scale as FOC combaticons.... My challenge is NOT to use any WFC or FOC figures. I will use older deluxe figures and remould their alt modes to make them look cybertronian.
any suggestions or opinions are highly appreciated.

    SEPT 14 UPDATE
here is HotShot/Defensor Torso. Made this peice as firm as i could. everybody hates a flimsy combiner
    [IMG]

    SEPT 16 UPDATE - GROOVE
a lot of great suggestions came my way with what to use for GROOVE. but heres my version of it. im pretty happy especially with the cybertronian mode
    [IMG]

    SEPT 19 UPDATE
heres streetwise, 80% done. i didnt use as much parts as i did with groove.

    SEPT 22 UPDATE
FOC defensor prototype. the groove leg is a tad bit shorter than streetwise, need to adjust that. and might want to add some "shoes". comments?

    Oct 3 Update
almost done with blades. but basically this is the concept. a hovering helicopter-like vehicle. im assuming with all that technology in cybertron, helicopters are obsolete.

the vehicles' tail was a problem when in robot mode so i made it a detachable one where it becomes blades cannons.

and here is FOC defensor 80% complete. need to resculpt the head and add a hand to blades. but i finished the feet, didn't make them to big or bulky and balanced the height of both legs.
this is the most sturdy combiner i made. grabbed it by the waist and shook it for a few seconds, everything was intact!

    10-16 UPDATE
heres first aid. used a Snowcat figure but changed the head and the front. just a few more bashes the my FOC protectobots/defensor will be done and ready for painting.

still sticking to my goal to create these custom figures by not using any WFC/FOC ones and making them look entirely different from the rest of the existing tf toys, making them a really one of a kind, unique custom.

    10-19-12 update

added some stuff on first aid to make him look more van like and here they are attached to defensor. the head is just a temporary piece, the actual head that i will be using is still being hand sculpted
    [IMG]

    10-23 UPDATE
FOC Protectobots final alt mode designs. from left: streetwise, blades, hotspot, first aid and groove
    [IMG]
I hope you guys like the looks i made/designed. My priority is not to make them look like any other TF hasbro/takara designed to make them look unique besides whoevers collection this will end up with. first aids chest is obviously soundwaves, but at least he's a van :)

all of them have weapons where they can be attached on alt modes:
streetwise pistols (x2) attached on the hood of the car
blades cannon attached to the tail
hotspots rifles (x2) attached on the roof
first aids rifles (x2) attached on the sides
grooves pistol attached on the back

    11-8 update
DEFENSOR head, sculpted from a metroplex head

For street wise, why not use red alert. Also for Groove, what about arce?

i could use red alert. but wanted to try what i have first. id have to buy a red alert. and as for arcee, which version? groove doesnt have to look like a bike, maybe just a thin cybertronian vehicle.

FOC Jazz might be your best option for Streetwise.

for streetwise, why not just use FOC Jazz? Seems easy enough to do.

As for Groove, maybe Armada Sideways? I know he's kind of dismissed as a crap mold, but in the right hands...

EDIT: Oh, right, you don't want to use FOC guys. How about Cybertron Hot Shot or Classics Rodimus?

Energon Arcee is a motorbike, as is Cybertron Ransack - he seems to pop up as Groove and Afterburner fairly frequently.

Interesting choice of bots for this. Will it still Transform or will it be an Actionmaster?

    ill try him out

i think ransack might be too small.... i want them to stand with the same height.

tried cybertron hotshot/excellion, he's too wide for a leg. classics rodimus is a good idea though

so tempted to use jazz..... but still i want to challenge myself NOT to use any FOC :)

oh wow, this has a toooon of potential. Really liking the choices so far, and like you've said you don't want to use Jazz, but it might be the perfect choice for streetwise.

options for groove, lol maybe a junkion? don't know, might work. I kida like the idea of you retooling screamer into a jet bike though, really think you should just fly with that, see what you can do.

Left field idea - Cyclonus as Groove. Cut his wings down and make him into a sort of Cybertronian dragster.
