Apologies for the WIP status, but thanks to my rotating work shift and outside priorities, i was unable to fully render this piece to my satisfaction. However, i really wanted to enter the competition so here it is for those interested. I wanted to include more iconic Decepticons, so choosing Cyclonus was rather easy for me. I was actually expecting a number of Cylonus entries but was surprised to see none (to my knowledge, please correct me if i'm wrong). Initially i also wanted to keep the G1 influences (inevitable if you ask me) to a minimum but picking the right color scheme was quite the challenge so i stuck to a more TFU shade of purple. Hope people enjoy the design, and i'll get around to finishing the piece for the radicons artwork thread! Cyclonus has long forgotten his identity before the project changed him. Now he only believes in pure simple chaos, so the Decepticons tend to keep him on a tight leash, merely pointing him in the right direction to wreak havoc upon their targets."
Too bad you weren't able to finish it in time, but I think you did good in posting it either way. Would like to see how it will be once finished! I think he resembles Megatron a bit too much (the face and the arms), but the alt mode is fricking awesome! Be sure to finish it!
Very cool! Nice way of working the horns/ears of the original into the design, and very nice choice of colors, not too dark or too bright. He is very spiky and menacing, very good job!
