This is another one of those "just gotta do it!" projects, one that a lot of customizers do eventually. My version is a real Frankenstein, being made up of parts from Energon Shockblast, Six-Shot, Snow-Cat, and Demolishor, Armada Megatron, and a hand from an ML Modok. He'll also have an Energon Blade thanks to a Happywell Road-Bot, and some extra firepower cribbed fom a Kids-Connection MARS set (thanks for the tip Jin!). A missile launcher from Snow-Cat. It also has two peg-holes that allow the addition of other energon weapons. The "shield-blaster" from Shockblast's old right arm slides nice and snug on the forearms. I may alter the blasters a bit to look a bit less plain. I had to do a few alterations with some Fixit-Sculpt. Love the stuff. By using more parts from Six-Shot and some Fixit-Sculpt, I was able to lengthen the legs by a centimeter. Some of the accessories that will be used in one way or another. I still have to do some sanding on the legs where I added the sections, wash the figure to remove any mold-release, figure out how to best attach the energon blade, and - of course - paint him up. Anyway, I think he's looking pretty neat so far, and he looms over Classics Megatron and Prime by about an inch, which I dig. Comments are welcome!
Weird. Do you have any trouble seeing my website? http://corvusonline.net Anyway, here ya go: http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585394&sid=mrR78dvFO7 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585395&sid=koK39bdiH5 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585396&sid=hkN52azDS6 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585397&sid=hLQ01wRUY8 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585398&sid=LMS68fkrW2 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585399&sid=pvP21krzV4 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585400&sid=apW65WZVO6 http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=corvus1970&pid=585401&sid=aBL55fgsR8
It's amazing what the removal of that giganto arm can do to this mold. Mine is permanently slouching to the side because of that damn thing.
Looks promising. I wanted to do something like this, but I could never find a Sixshot to use for the spare parts (not for a reasonable price at least). Will he still transform into a satellite? zmog
looking great so far corvus...i have a question tho...how strong is fix-it sculpt...i've been pondering into getting some
The website link itself doesn't work, but, the indevidual picture links themselves work. Looks pretty good so far. It'll look a lot better once you get some paint on him.
This is awesome, but a question is at hand: Is shockwave a frankenstein in transformers? (hey, i'm new!!)
Shockwave created some Franenstein-type bodies, depending on the storyline you follow, but he wasn't one himself. He was the first Transformer commercially released (in 1984) with a Cybertronian alt mode; all the other ones had Earth-based alt modes at the time. He's distinctive in other ways - gun arm, single eye, in charge of Cybertron during Megs' absence (G1 TV show), temporary leader of the Decepticons (G1 comic), later revealed (post-G1 G1-based comics) to have a strong scientific, almost mad scientist, bent. In other words, he's an all-around unique character and one who has not been officially redone in a manner that was true to the original (though the Alternator was a decent attempt).
Your website and your pics work on my computer, must be different. Anyways awesome stuff on it I'm impressed and jealous at the same time.
Thanks for the feedback guys SMOG: He'll still be able to transform into a satellite, yes. However he'll have a couple more modes besides. grock35: Fixit-Sculpt is REALLY strong. Its hard without being brittle, which is why it can be used for many types of repair applications around the home. Lumpy: You can transfom him into an approximation of his G1 Gun self, but it doesn't look too great. His main mode will be a rotating cannon. He'll also be able to turn into the mobile cannon and satellite like Shockblast. I really like some of the stuff defstar did with his, especially the cannon mode.
One tip of advice, don't make the chest pink. A while ago, a basher did that on their Classics Shockwave, and it looked hideous. Sadly, it ruined the look of the whole figure.
