    WIP Classics Mixmaster! More pics on Page 3!

    MIXMASTER!
    Function: Decepticon Materials Fabrication

    Bio: "How strong the steel, how quick the conquest."

    Nothing is safe from him... he will use anything from unliving rock to living robot in making new materials. Uses acids and bonding agents to reduce and recombine almost anything inside mixing drum... a chemistry lab on wheels. As left leg module, combines with fellow Constructicons to form giant robot "Devastator".

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have ThyViper,whole heartily to thank for planting this seed in my head.
    I've started consulting with Thy on his build,I've stared at his and frenzy_rumble's builds till I was crosseyed.There are things about both of theirs that I like,which I am trying to incorporate into my build.
    I've started on Mixmaster a little while ago,his base mold is Energon Barricade,just like Thy and F_R.First up was to remove his cab,then I started to fully disassemble the figure itself.
    So here are the first WIP pics of him,not a whole lot going on yet.
    If you need a hand with anything...feel free to ask :D
    There are quite a few versions of both devy and mixmaster.
    Generally what you see is a parts-former. A few of us have built a mixmaster that is all one piece and still looks pretty good.
    I have 3 versions myself :)
    Good luck. Devastator was my most rewarding custom when finished, all I could do was look at it on my desk and say "Damn"
    My second will be on the boards soon.
    Well I know that F_R's Mixmaster is indeed a parts former,I know that Thy's cab stays on during transformation using Barricade's cab connector,mine will unfortunately will not since I broke the connector on accident,so like F_R's,he's now a parts former.
    Also,can't wait to see your 2nd Devs.
    My original had the cab on the feet, which worked out pretty well. But was Oh So Painful to build.
    My second is a partsformer...it is just SO much easier.
    Waiting on another Primus to mutilate to finish my second one up.
    Looking forward to your take on this guy. It is fun to see how everyone interprets the original idea.
    f_r has one of the best out there. I stared at frenzyrumble.com for hours trying to get ideas.
    EDIT:
    Biglots just got a new shipment of universe energon combiner deluxes I just picked up 4 barricades for $9.50 each
    Might be worth looking into if you want to play around with some ideas.
    Well I guess I will be taking a trip to Big Lots soon then,might be worth it to pick up a few more Barricades.
    Did they have any other Universe figures,like Sharkticon or anything like that?
    They had Steamhammer, Storm jet, Barricade, Sharkticon, and a bunch of scout class as well....I'm REALLY hoping they will have the rest of the parts of the combiners. I would love to have the energon versions of the ones I have.
    They never released the scout limbs into Universe,which sucks cause then I would have had the Energon versions of all of them.
    If my Big Lots has any Barricades or Sharkticons they are as good as mine!
    I couldn't convince myself to buy sharkticon...lol
    Just don't see the appeal personally.
    and DAMNIT about the limbs...now I have an extra steamhammer in my collection.
    I have butchered a couple stormjets for my devys also. If you follow the ptitvite method you will need a couple energon port/pegs.
    Sharkticon is for another bash I have in mind.
    Actually I won't be using the Energon ports/pegs,I'm using the Neo Shifter method.
    Here are some pics of my original mixmaster which is not a parts former, as well as a more recent version that is a collaboration with a very gifted painter and good friend from here on the boards.
    Just be careful when buying...lol
    I had enough parts to build 3 devastators when I was finished buying/trading.
    Now I have enought for one I will keep for myself one more to sell (maybe)
    a few extra barricades as well.
    I want to do a "how to" on my non-parts forming mixmaster.
    I use krylon fusion as a base coat. Seems to work really well.
    Just tossing that out there.
    Way ahead of ya buddy!
    I've had the paint planned long before I ever thought of jumping on this project.
