    Hi guys,

I just want to show off my custom work, which I've been planning for a week now. I am really proud of my custom, despite of all its flaws. I really didn't think I will be able to make it this far, as I have no experience in painting, kitbashing, customizing or what have you. By the way, this is still a WIP. I still need to "sandpaper" this baby, more so, this custom badly needs a paint job ASAP. I also intended to improve the articulation of his thighs.

Now on to the materials used:

    - Incomplete Armada Starscream (without the 2 wings, minicon and missiles)
    - Complete KO Armada Starscream
    - Junker TFU 2.0 Dirge (without the crotch and thigh part, as it was used in my custom Armada Starscream's improved thigh articulation)
    - Super glue

    Hand tools used:

    - Hand saw
    - Philips screwdriver - used in removing some screws... duh
    - 1 precision screwdriver (minus head) - used in holding stuff which my fingers can't cause the gap is so small
    - Sandpaper (120) - used in smoothening rough parts... duh
    - A pair of scissors - cutting excess plastic from sawed off areas

    Procedure:

For the procedure in making this custom, I will not use too many words, so it will not be demotivating to read. I'll use the "milestone" approach:

    - Cut the wings area from TFU 2.0 Dirge's arms using a hand saw, and "sandpapered" the rough parts produced by the sawing.
    - Removed the cannons of Armada Starscream by removing a screw using a Philips screwdriver.
    - Sawed the air intake/thrusters of the Armada Starscream, and "sandpapered" the rough parts produced by the sawing.
    - Sawed off some of the back parts of Armada Starscream (near the minicon port), to accomodate the wings part from TFU 2.0 Dirge.
    - Applied super glue to the sawed part at the back and the TFU 2.0 Dirge's
    - Connected the KO Armada Starscream's 2 wings
    - And lastly, enjoy playing with it after the super glue dried! hehehehe :)

    Now the pics:

As I mentioned earlier, I also want to improve the thigh articulation of this toy, so I will be scouting some ball joints or use another TFU 2.0 Dirge to do what my friend initially did to my first Armada Starscream's thigh.

Any comments and criticisms are most welcomed! Same goes with tips/advice/secrets, especially regarding painting. I need them for my next custom work... RID Prowl reshell using Lamborghini Gallardo! :)

    Will update ASAP.

Thanks for viewing! Until next time! :)

    Cheers!

Agreed on the cannon thing, But I like either way. One thing you might want to try is creating another notch at the back of the nose where it attaches to the body so the front section doesn't droop down so much.

main thing killing it for me is the back kibble on the bot mode. is there a way you can maybe make is so it folds down into a sort of jet pack.

    other than that, nice job.

@ssg4life - I miss the cannons too. :(  But don't worry, I plan to give him 2 energon blades. :)

@dak - I will definitely follow your suggestion, it sucks that the c0ckpit is droopy. :(  Any tips on what cutting tool should I use to cut small pieces? I'm already having a hard time cutting small pieces using a hand saw, let alone cutting in areas not easily accessible. :)

@GAUGE0001 - I initially planned him with his back thrusters permanently positioned that way, but I considered your suggestion and tried to visualize it. It actually will look better folding down. However, just when I figured out I can make it fold down, I already glued the new wing/afterburner part. :(  But I can still saw from the top. It would be difficult though, but I'm up to the challenge. :)

@doomtron - Cutting made my fingers sore. :(  But I am quite happy with the progress. :)

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions! Will definitely take your advice. I will post more WIP pics soon. :)

    Cheers!

wow man I hate this mold but your making the best of it for sure.

I have two great ideas for you

1- put some thrusters on those back wings/kibble, have them fold down AND up over his shoulders to become the NEW shoulder cannons

and 2- make new arms that turn into missles or chainguns for underneath the wings in alt mode, you should carve out a hole where the solid wing parts meet the swing down parts and put in some ball joint shoulders. those arms suck hasbro.

I realize you have limited tools but u should hit up the dallor store they have decent stuff, I dont even use a saw i have an old steak knife and drill bits and box cutters till i can afford a dremmel lol

I hope you like these ideas cuz i think they would perfect this mold, if you dont thats kool, i may just make my own..

iv always wanted this mold but the universe ramjet one.
but i like what u did, it makes the jet mode look a hell of a lot better!
i agree with the guys above that u need to make the back part fold down for robot mode. and make some ball jointed shoulders and maybe legs too.
once u do that, this custom will be amazing!

take a look at this custom to maybe give u some ideas on articulation
