WIP Another Beast Wars style one, Great White Shark - UPDATED 03/24/2010

Update: 03/24/2010: Added opening jaw to head and fold away cannon, added "skin" to frame of head. Full details in reply post on page 3
Here are all the WIP pictures for this guy in my photobucket account
Most recent pictures attached below, early WIP pictures embeded in page

Wanted to do another Beast Wars style transformer after my giraffe Longrack.
Not really based off any of the originals, or the Sharkticons, but its going to be a Great White Shark.

Its inspired by Beast Wars Megatron, in that his beast mode's head and tail become his hands/arms.
Right hand will be the shark's head, left will be the shark's tail. The legs will fold up into the body.

This one will be made mostly from styrene and sculpt. Used some Galaxy Force Cybertron: Auto Lander
pelvis/legs chopped up, and a Dragon Ball Z Piccolo figure for arm joints.

Anyways, stay tuned for more updates and progress, and here are some appetizer pictures.

    Here's another update: Arms

    UPDATE 03/18/2010

Did the arms using Neo-shifter joints and styrene tubes.
Also got the tail on, i'm going to need to mod it or redo it
so that both halves of the tail pinch together, because just the bottom flipping up doesn't look as nice or functional.

As I've mentioned, the bottom half of the tail folds up into the upper half, and the entire tail can rotate at the wrist.

UPDATE: Tail/Claw fixed so that both top and bottom can fold in to make a claw hand

Hahaha, you know, I think I just might work in a gimmick so the head slides or folds to reveal that face.

how about a flip-over head like the old cheetor did, so when the head isn't in smiley mode it has the smiley face looking like vents in the back of the head... gah! i hope you got what i meant, i can sketch a diagram if you're interested :D

YEah, could you post a sketch? I was thinking of making his head kind of like a head master, but instead of transforming into a robot, it transforms to be a smiley face head.

    Latest UPDATE 03/20/2010

Hello folks! Thanks for tuning in again.

Today's update includes the framing of the shark head and completion of the tail.

I framed out the head by sketching parts on paper then cutting it out of styrene sheets.
Made it like the slot connecting 3D wood puzzles of dinosaurs and other such animals, etc.
Made a block of plastic fit in the cavity of the head, drilled a hole in it and used a piece of a
Gunam parts tree embedded into the arm so that the head is on a sliding/rotating mechanism.

I'll be adding the lower jaw on a hinge later, and am going to try to make it so his row of upper teeth can
fold up an away in closed mouth, and out when his mouth is open like in my sketches. I think the hardest part
is going to be adding the shark body pieces to the robot and figuring out a good way to transform it without it
being too shell-former like. I've taken a look at both Cybersharks, but they are super shell formers.
