I JUST got one of these Walgreens robots, and was wondering who to convert him into... nice!! Great job. Love the retro-mode! I saw the first 3 car molds, of which this one was definitely the coolest (though the other 2 do turn into neat vintage sports cars... '57 Chevy and the old Dodge Viper). If anyone sees the Bulldozer and Cement Mixer versions anywhere, let me know... I really want 'em!! zmog
OMG...when I saw this thread I almost pooped my pants... I have the exact same figure sitting on my workbench all prepped up to start painting into Windcharger...You beat me to it! That is a really sweet paint job! Did you have a problem with the ball joints on his shoulders staying on? I really like what you did with the head...I fell as though choosing a noggin for this guy was the hardest part for me... Awesome job!
I've got this one and the Viper, and yeah... the shoulder ball-joints are the biggest flaw in the design. They pop out WAY too easily, though I did use the clear nail-polish trick on them and they're a LOT better now. zmog
dude, not only do I commend you on the creativity with this custom, but the fact you had the balls to customize that KO! haha, I've got one, but scared to use it. The double bot mode really sells me on this project, great work.
Totally doing this. Found the bots today and they were on sale for today only at 4.99 each in the 9.99 toy section at wal-greens. It was tough deciding on just one as they had the convertible and the hot rod too but alas no construction vehicles which I want for a dev.
