I certainly don't mind, but I do hope he pulls it off nicely if true.

Tuturo can play conflicted characters very well. So why not? They should have Shia LaBeouf voice one of the Twins, too. (I'm both not serious at all and serious with that statement)

all i can say as it will be interesting why bay chose him, either for his comedic style which means jetfire might be a parody of kup(who knows?) or Bay choose him out of their friendship and most likely cause he created a good voice for the bot.

Assuming this is true and not another "I Michael Bay Enjoy Lying To Publications", I don't mind, so long as Turtorro plays him differently to Simmons* and is made to sound different.

*This won't be hard, given Turturro based Simmons on Bay.

Thing is, if he's already in the movie as Simmons, wouldn't it be odd if he also voiced a character? I know TV shows have one voice actor for multiple characters (Peter Cullen, Frank Welkner), but since a movie is higher budget, wouldn't it be better to separate characters?

I do like John's job, but it really all comes up to the voice that he uses. so I'll be waiting.

However I'm very positive about that, considering that Bay's choices for the first movie were spot-on (unless you're somebody that's crying for all g1 cast that is).

I'm indifferent. Turturro knows how to act, so I wouldn't mind. If he does play him, it may be that Jetfire merely copied his voice for lack of a better alternative. Frankly, there's so many voices that could work with Jetfire, any one would make me content.

I agree, Turturro could and can do many voices, and its not like Jetfire has a specific voice tone such as Optimus, Megatron, or Soundwave.

Also SPLIT LIP, your one of the reasons I joined here, I share many of your views while I browsed here, plus I love your sig!

Good point, I never though of it like that. I'm sure he could handle this character but to be fair no one knows what Bay has in store for the portrayal of Jetfire. I'm under the impression Jetfire will have a certain element of comedic value, so regarding a voice actor Turturro fits the bill nicely.

May I ask why you have a Knight Rider scanner as an avatar? I'm new here so excuse me if you have mentioned this before.

I won't write him off, but I would prefer a deep, booming voice for Jetfire. When I think of Jetfire, I think of an intellectual who is reluctant to do battle, but can fight with the best of them if he has to.

"Geriatric robot" is not the first thing that springs to my mind.

Can't say I care much. If it's going to be all old man jokes then may as well get him voiced by the guy who made his last TF movie part a joke.
Simmons is Jetfire's holographic pilot. :p

Eh, I don't mind. As long as he sounds like a pissed-off old man, I'll be happy.

I think this is a rediculous poll to be taking. So no, I wouldn't be happy if he voiced anyone. I could barely take him as it is. Why have him pull double-duty?

Since there's not a "don't care" option, I voted yes. There are a dozen ways they can use Tuturro's voice for the character and make it work. I don't understand what the problem would be.
