Will WOC/FOC and MTMTE be made into an animated series anytime soon?

Why haven't these two been made into an animated series? I think WFC/FOC would work better as a movie and MTMTE a cartoon series. I guess technically WFC/FOC has been animated because of the cutscenes but I'd still feel better if it was like a movie prequel to Prime. While I haven't read MTMTE, I've heard that it's really good and I think it could definitely be a cartoon series. Why hasn't Hasbro done this already?

I'd adore an hour long episode MTMTE series. We have a thread over in the comics forum on who you hear as the characters, and there, I published my dream cast list.

A common fan sentiment is the desire for more animated movies and adaptations of stuff, like how DC does. We could get further stories in long since ended series like Animated and RID 2001.

Wasn't there something on the front page that there was going to be something like this after the Bumblebee movie? I'd love to see more in depth for characters besides Optimus/bee/megs/screamer.

I believe you're referring to the animated prequel film in the works for the Bayverse.

No. Cyberverse is at present believed to be a new continuity. The animated film takes place in the Bayverse.

I'd love movies of AHM, Maximum Dinobots, LSOTW And an MTMTE animated series.

I think that'll sum up most people's feelings on the matter.

I think MTMTE would make a great series, as the comic book format means that the stories are already arranged in arcs, yet are very episodic per issue. Also the space-adventure format is always fun in a cartoon. Will it ever happen? Well, I don't know. But I hope so.

If they went the DC route, I'd like to see Marvel and Dreamwave stuff as well.

Imagine Target 2006 animated like Transformers The Movie.

Or the Space Pirated arc with that iconic scene where Metroplex erupts from beneath Autobot City.

Dreamwave's War and Peace would be nice too or the Sunstorm storyline.

I wouldn't say no to the old G2 comics turned into an animated mini series with the guy from Combiner Wars voicing Megatron.

Is the topic asking why as a business that decision has not been made or just talking about how that would be nice if they did get made?

The reason why Hasbro will not due this is simply the modern toy cycle and the limited resources they have for media. WFC/FOC is over, those toys have not been on shelves for a long time and there won't be media to support them. At the time the games were the media, no need to spend the money for a show and a game when you can license out for the game, make money on the back end with the license to high moon and then sell toys on the designs.

For MTMTE, the comic books are the media, they tie in to the toyline a bit here and there, but Hasbro hasn't made an MTMTE toyline so they won't do a show about it. And the media to support the Generations toyline is super cheap, Machinima costs less than traditional animation (as demonstrated by the quality).

As for what we wish happens, I would rather have another new show than something based on what we have before (which is based on G1 before that). I am kind of burned out of the G1 referencing a bit, ready to pop off on something totally new/weird a la Beast Wars, RID, but it seems like Cyberverse will absolutely not be that. C'est la vie.

Holy crap, I'd KILL for a FoC/WfC series. Alas, I don't see it lasting long as that series was very, VERY short. On that note, I can definitely see a longer series out of War Within.

As for why none of the IDW series hasn't been made into an animated one, is beyond me. I don't think Hasbro realizes the goldmine they have here and without doubt this would be hella-better than that Machinima garbage.

Please no. The IDW stories were made as comics and work best as comics.

I think the games already work fine as movies. People have made movies out of them on YouTube and they are a good watch. No need for a show there.

And the IDW comics are pretty overrated. A series that focuses more on political discourse and less on action would not go over well.

And I really would not want to see that butchered mess they made out of Optimus in the comics ever see light elsewhere. We don't need a mopey emotional optimus prime spewing pacifistic and indifferent rhetoric every chance he gets, quitting the conflict over and over because he just doesn't give a scrap.

I honestly hope they don't give Machinima the rights to do MTMTE.
