Anyone in the know heard anything on this?
In the way of Megatron becoming Galvatron - I certainly hope so
In the way of Galvatron being a separate character - I certainly hope not
At Botcon the Cartoon Network people said that three of these four will appear.
Ratbat, Swindle, Waspinator and Galvatron.
Swindle and Wasp have already made they're ppearence, so that leaves Galvatron and Ratbat.
I'm hoping for Ratbat because he has not appeared as much as Galvatron.
Quite possibly, though. The repeat use of Galvatron has always been a trademark issue, and with the release of Universe Galvatron to hold that over, they've definitely got an out now.
i'd say its more probable that galvatron would show up...and ratbat is being used in universe, though so is galvatron...either way, i'd like them both to show up, as long as galvatron isnt an upgrade of megatron...or, if he is, he should have a new toy at the very least...
QFT. If animated lasts long enough, then it will be okay to bring galvatron, but not in the next 2 seasons.
This needs to not happen, it will be the fall of animated to me. DON'T KILL OFF MAIN CHARACTERS! You would think Hasbro learned something last time they tried this.
Ratbat could be part of a soundblaster repaint
Right now I'd only want to see Galvatron in Animated if: A) they got Nimoy to do his voice, and B) they leave his origins mysterious so that we're never quite sure whether he IS a separate entity or if he really is Future Megatron. Otherwise, meh.
that might be cool to have galvatron in animated but i hope he is a seperate character instead of megatron powered up
I think it'd be cool if Galvatron was a seperate character. The whole "upgrade for Megatron" angle has been done to death.
Hmmm....I would say Ratbat will make the cut before Galvatron.
Being of the old school fandom. I've always liked the re-format story of Megs --> Galvatron.
They (hasbro) has somewhat broken the mold on animated vs the past series and while I don't mind the Galvatron upgrade from the AES and RID shows, I would much prefer a truly different Galvatron character like from G1 and the comics.
IIRC in the G1 cartoon AND old Marvel comic, Galvatron was (some version of) Megatron reincarnated. I don't remember what Dreamwave was planning to do with him, but IDW's Galvatron is definitely a separate character.
I just don't want to see Galvatron portrayed as bat-sh** insane anymore.
IF Galvatron were to show up, I would hope he is handled as a separate character, that respects the upgrade origin by having him as a time traveller.
Basically, do Time Wars from the UK comics but Animated style. That way you get Galvatron without losing Megatron or the origin.
While I am rooting for Ratbat, here's something else to consider. Three of those four will show up - but they also said "probably only one more beast". The probably was part of their general obscuring the actual existance of Waspinator as a character in the show, I'd wager. So really, that does only leave Galvatron.
Maybe not '86 movie mass slaughter, but killing off Dinobot in BW seems to have worked out well for everybody.
The only way I'd really like to see Galvatron in Animated is if he's NOT Megatron, but, of course, if he's not Megatron, then there's really not much of a point to him.
Still, if he were to show up, I'd like to see them tweak Galvy's origin by blending the G1 comic and toon a bit. Instead of just adapting "Time Wars", have Galvatron just be some bat-sh!t crazy Decepticon warlord who just thinks he's a reformatted Megatron from the future. Throw in Cyclonus as his loyal handler, and it would be all set.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Megs turning into Galvy has gotten boring.
I would rather he be a sepertate character like IDW's Galvatron and just show up mysteriously as a mad, ultra powerful and evil being. Only leave or don't show up a lot to keep him special.
Not to mention the personality change that comes with the upgrade just makes the whole thing stupid. Its like megatron never existed so why not make it a totally seperate character.
I never like galvatron to begin with i should mention. Every time I see an image of megatron beating the crap out of galvatron whether its fan or comic art I get a little happy on the inside.
Only if he was a separate person. Megatron already got a new body. Even if he got another one I don't see why he would change his name. The sound of his name started a Decepticon rebellion, at least Iron Hide said so.
Separate names with a comma.
