help please... im new to tf collecting and is now hunting for g1, vintage or reissue.

is there a chance that g1 devastator will be re-issued by takara or hasbro?

there's a bidding now for a misb g1 devi and i'm really really interested but i don't think i can even win him for 300 dollars plus shipping. and that is all i can shell out for one.

    so should i just wait?

    thanks!

You're probably better off going after a vintage one. A Takara reissue is very doubtful. Especially considering all the KO versions that been released over the past few years.

you can NEVER get a MISB Devy for 300.

a MISB original Devy goes in the 4 digit range.

There are multiple KO:s of Devastator.

You never know what Takar and Hasbro do, but the KOs out there might have damadge Devs market.

Be interesting if they would come out with Encore Devastator. Hey, if they release an Encore Bruticus, surely they could do the same for the other Combiners.

I'd like to see the other combiners too. A MISB Dev is pricey, but finding one loose is usually pretty easy and shouldn't run too much. Especially if you get it parts at a time.

because Bruticus is the only mold we seen alive the last 10 years.

and the repaint would probably sell better if it were his diclone colors

Didn't Hasbro specifically say at one point that they WOULDN'T do Devy, because of the K/O's flooding the market, and not wanting to have any confusion about legitimate vs. K/O product?

So I'd try for either a loose one (if you do loose), or one of the "unofficial" reissues (If you don't mind the slight stink of skeeze). Or, if you want to "have the toy experience" on the cheap, the non-glamorous dollar-store-knock-offs are often pretty decent. The yellow ones especially seem to have the best quality (for whatever reason...).

Personally I would get a loose 100% complete one.
If your into MISB then you are probably out of luck.
I bought my 100% complete devy for just under $100.
It looks brand new. The previous owner took really good care of it.
I'm thinking about buying a reprolabels set for it...as it never had it's stickers applied.
If you are patient you can find good ones.

Do any of you know whether the green Devastator on kotoys.com is decent quality?

I don't see why a knock-off would be a factor. There are a bunch of KO's of G1 Prime and Bruticus out there, yet Takara re-issued both.

But yes, if your going to get a G1 Devastator, be careful, especially on Ebay. The loose ones at this point can easily be mixed up with KO parts. Sometimes the seller knows this, and sometimes they don't.

    *random thought*

I want to see one of those KO multicolored devastators kitbashed into a movie Devastator XD

longhaul and bonecrusher as the legs, hook and scrapper as the arms, and mixmaster and scavanger somehow into the body and head! (just glue the legends devastators face onto mixmaster)

actually there's probably enough KO's in so many colors you wouldn't even have to repaint them, just find them in the molded colors
    green longhaul
    yellow bonecrusher
    yellow scrapper
    red scavanger
    yellow hook
grey mixmaster? (silver sharpie marker XD)

No. If either Hasbro or Takara had any intentions of reissuing Devastator, they would have announced it by now to cash in on the movie hype.

    I

It think if you want a Devastator, your best bet is to get a knock off when they come out during Christmas, they may be crappy quality, but if you are just going to display it as Devastator, you might as well invest in some paint, brushes, and reprolabels.

    thanks for the suggestions!

might as well wait i guess, cause at this point, i can't afford a 4 digit devi. he's awesome but not 4 digit awesome (that's just me, cheap bastard that i am)

i don't buy knockoffs but the g1 shelf is just not complete without the green and purple giant in the background. KO it is, for now, as i patiently wait.

    thank you!

I simply have some yellow KO Devastator for like $9. It looks decent enough, so I don't mind.

What I'd really like is a Masterpiece Devastator  ... yeah, that's much to ask for.

hey kabayan! i have to agree with what the others have said. its really gonna be expensive going for a misb g1 devy. if i were you, i'd just look for someone selling it loose on ebay as long as its complete/almost complete. there might be a chance that takara might release it under the encore line coz the character appeared on the movie, but no news of that yet as of late. hope this helps!
