I know they said that the Transformers ride will be a 3d HD footage with real robots. But will it be a real roller-coaster? If it is I don't want to go.

i think it'll be a half 'n'half like the spidey ride. which is awesome, incidentally.

this could be enough to lure me back to orlando for a holiday!

It will be like the old BTTF ride. A moving seat with a big screen.

I predict that it'll be like one of those swinging boat things. Or possibly a tilt-a-whirl. Or some combination thereof.

I am too much a wuss to ride it, but i would like it to be similar to the next gen roller coasters- like the ones with the seats outside the track that swivel independently, or something more extreme- but i doubt it.
I think an extreme franchise should get an extreme attraction. Dueling Dragons, the Hulk ride, etc. Hell, that Superman ride with the ZERO g stop at the top seemed fitting for the theme.

most likely, it will be watered down to the BTTF ride style.
    sadness, IMO,

Unless the coaster transform from track ride to robot mode on multiple occasions through the ride, count me out.

I would hope a Transformers ride would be something involving life-size animatronics, even if they're only partial (as is the norm for many theme-park rides) and not full-body. To me it'd be a cheat to build a ride involving giant robots WITHOUT actually building the giant robots.

We need fairground Transformers toys. I'd love to have figures of such funpark classic characters as Ferris, Dodgem and Coconut Shy. :)

If the cart transformed wouldn't it hurt the riders? The cart transforms and everyone would be tangled up in pain.

The press release said it's a dark ride. So they'll be CG projections and animatronics.

Really? That's a kiddie coaster compared to the modern coasters out there. Try Kingda Ka on! LOL

I hope it's a rollercoaster as well. Love them!

I really hope it's like "Revenge of the Mummy" ride at Universal Studios. It's an indoor roller coaster that uses animatronics, and pyrotechnics. Though it'll probably end up being more like "The Amazing Spider-man" at Islands of Adventure. The vehicle moves along a track and it combines projected animation and animatronic/moving set pieces.

A failed attempt at humor there, I guess, but that's part of my point: it's perfectly easy to just slap the brand/character name (like Batman or the Hulk) on a roller coaster which otherwise has nothing whatsoever to do with the brand/character itself and leave it at that. But if I were to go on any theme-park ride that puts itself under the TRANSFORMERS umbrella, there damn well better be giant robots; it'd be like making a JAWS ride without the big shark. A roller coaster isn't exactly conducive to the narrative required to pay these things off, but fortunately from the sound of it Universal's on top of things with this one.

    Wait-a-minute!

I thought the ride idea got scrapped back in April? Right?

Crap, I don't remember. That sucks.

Just as well, though; I wouldn't want to see something as lame as just a coaster with an Autobot logo printed on it.

I'd like giant robot arms to unfold from the car you're sitting in as if it just transformed into a robot and then your car has a first-person perspective fight with a Transformer. Pretend you're actually passengers in a TF's body that's transporting you through an adventure.
