Well, he would need a hood for that. Thank goodness we have Michael Bay to deliver just such a design and save us from not having that needed hood-mounting spot.

That's it? Even so, the point was, not everyone wants to have to do said task when some feel it shouldn't of been that way in the first place. Those smoke stacks are probably less dangerous than the missile launchers they put on figures in general. I think you are more likely to get hit in the eye with one of those, as compared to playing with a figure that close to your face to get hit with the smokestacks. But again, the smokestacks haven't been the key selling point on any Optimus figure.

Is it bad that I hope you are right? I would love to see the aftermath of that.

If they felt that way, then they were more than welcome to buy the Takara versions. If you don't like the toy laws here, go tell your congressman, organize a rally, write letters, vote. Common sense is lacking in a lot of laws because we do nothing and let those things go.

Even better. Put it on the roof

I understand why they do it. While it is a slight gripe to me, it doesn't put me into a rage. It doesn't bother me to the point I refuse to buy it.

Your very question is flawed. They're not broken, they've been shortened due to new safety standards.

It's our own fault for poking our eyes out with them when we were kids. I mean I didn't do that personally, but kids got poked. Maybe not in the eye. Still, poking injuries occurred.

The smokestacks on past Prime's were retooled, not "pre-broken" whatever the hell that means.

it's kinda ridiculous cause a kid could still jam another kids eyes out even with the soft plastic on, say, rid ratchet's knives. american toy laws, go figure.

Even though perhaps Hasbro's mistake is simply labeling Masterpieces as "toys" instead of "collectors items". I'm not sure of the laws, but if they were to make it very clear that Masterpieces aren't aimed at children, would they still be bound by the same safety laws?

I think it's more due to the fact that the small tips were prone to breaking off and were thus a choking hazard. Same reason why all the G1 reissues have long missiles.

    Nope....

    Thanks man...

Indeed, that's it. If it really is as big an issue that you'd leave a figure because of it when the fix is so simple (and cheap) then I dunno what to say tbh.

    Just sayin'....
