You do realize they may not have a choice but to shorten them. If the FCC or whoever the fuck it is determines that they cannot have the long stacks, then they have to shorten them or not put it out.

I doubt they shortened the other ones just to piss off the fans.

 

In all seriousness, if they want to make this an expensive, masterpiece collector's toy without worrying about strict safety concerns, why don't they just put a line like "Adult Collector's Item" on the front like some LEGO sets and those fancy lightsabers?

Hasbro would kill any chance of a bricks-and-mortar retailer such as TRU taking it on if they branded it as such. The high-end Lego sets tend to be sold only on their online store (which is streets ahead of anything HTS can manage), and their VERY small handful of branded stores. Not sure about the lightsabers but I expect they're also available through specialist retailers.

 

No, a TRUE FAN would spend the extra $150 and get the Takara version. After all, for a TRUE FAN, $75 per smokestack is a small price to pay to make sure that they're RITE.

 

Yes, someone asked about it during the Q&A. The panelists conferred for 5 or 10 seconds and then answered. Again it was something to the effect of "we intend to release it with the full length smokestacks." However, as you know intention and execution are frequently not the same thing. So, keep your fingers crossed.

If the stacks are small, then we'll gather to whine about how our childhood's being neutered har har, even if we understand the reasoning behind it. If they're full length, well then we'll still complain & use this as precedent for why we think everything else should have longer guns, and if something like this came with soft plastic parts... well, I don't even wanna think about how we'd react to that.  

 

I'll probably buy it regardless. And just laugh when I see the 20 threads about how someone is pissed about something or other.

Has it ever occurred to those that don't like the short stacks to buy aftermarket long ones and replace them? I did that with my 25th Anniversary Prime and it was a 2 minute job.
