Is the Masterpiece Prime they unveiled going to actually have the smokestacks or are they going to come pre-broken like every other Prime they have released with smokestacks in the last 7 years?

 

They stated at Botcon that their intention at this point is to release it with the full length stacks.

 

Well the stacks transform to get shorter, so how much shorter can they make them and not have them fall off in bot mode?

 

All right, I am going to hold them to that. If I see him in stores pre-broken, I am no longer going to buy a single Transformers item ever again.

 

1) Hasbro neutered the smokestacks on every previous Prime to retroactively crap on your childhood.

2)Safety regulations.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is proof that no matter what good news comes our way, no matter what new release there is to be excited about, someone somewhere will imagine a reason to complain about it.

Actually, I have not bought a TF toy since I got Junkheap last Nov.

And in all honesty, my love for Transformers died with the cancellation of Animated. Since then, I have not been interested in Transformers as much as I was 10 years ago. In fact, my love for MOTUC went up in the last two years the way Transformers did for me several years back.

Even when I rewatched all of G1 in a week back in Jan I did not feel compelled to buy a single TF figure, which is strange, because usually, when I marathon a series, I get the urge to either buy something relating to it or spend a lot of time with my collection. Neither happened.

Hasbro may not care, but I just get the satisfaction knowing my money is not going towards another crappy ass Bayformer design.

Dude, we are talking about a $100 toy here, NOT a $10 toy. If it was $10, then fine, it does not need smokestacks. But for $100, the final product better look the same way it was revealed.

 

Was that during the Q&A? I walked out after they started it and don't remember hearing anything.

Anyway, I'm still a little skeptical about the smokestacks. I remember the promo pictures for 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime had full stacks, and we know how that turned out.

 

I'm sure the complete lack of "Bayformer" designs we're getting for the next few years will miss your money.
