Will they be mass-released at Target, Walmart, etc, or will they be store exclusives at TRU or somewhere? I ask because at local Targets, Walmarts, Meijers, and KMarts, the Generations deluxes have all been clearanced out. So I'm slightly worried that only TRU will carry them. On the plus side, if Target and Walmart and everywhere else carries them, they have ZERO old product on the shelves to compete with, so every store will be getting in fresh cases of the first wave. You never know how distribution will go after that, but at least folks will have a good shot at Wave 1.
No because the distribution will be shotty and favor the west coast as usual. Unless Hasbro and all those stores had a meeting that is.
it will prob change to canada and asia exclusives only, with hasbro focusing only on robot heroes for the usa.
So everyone in the US will hunt for the mass released toys, 2% of the hunters will actually find them, then Hasbro will issue a statement saying it 'never meant' for the line to be perceived as 'mass release'? Meanwhile collectors will pay 400% markup to have the toys imported from Asia with a sticker that says 'USA Edition'?
There's a packaging refresh planned, so you can bet this will be pitched to retailers as a "new line" that promotes the Fall of Cybertron game.
The retailers will over-order the first wave, which will be composed solely of Bumblebees. They will then refuse to order any more and the following waves will be cancelled, with one or two turning up at discount stores
To the Op, what generations toys are you referring to? If you're talking about shockwavw, jazz, bruticus, then yes they should be mass released. If you are talking about the repaints posted a couple weeks ago with new heads/retooling/repaints, those are Asian exclusives.
