According to TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE, ANIMATED and MOVIE Toys and Action Figures the Rotf line will be released the 30th May.

We have heard rumours for new Animated figures like Blackout, Rodimus and Electrostatic Soundwave, but yet no release date.

Do you think that Hasbro would release the new Animated wave the same date the Rotf gets released? As some sort of surprise?

Unfortunately I dont think this would happen for some reason ...

I doubt as they would be competeing against them selves much as they had been doing with the TF: A and legends/classics lines onthe shelves at the same time

    Almost 100% no.
They won't want to cause any confusion for the retailers. For the time being they're pretty much totally focussed on selling the movie product. Once the movie has finished it cinema run then we'll see other lines returning to the shops

Sadly, I'm thinking 'no'. We haven't even seen prototypes for some of the new Animated figures, and with our crack team of 'early chinese stolen toy' masters here, I'm sure we'll see blurry pics, Ebay auctions, full galleries and video reviews at least three full months before the figures hit store shelves.

The last figure we saw that we hadn't seen before was Cybertron Mode Ratchet.

We have not seen "in hand" pictures of Arcee, Golfire Grimlock, Hydrodive Bumblebee, Wingblade Optimus Prime, Rodimus, Freeway Jazz, or Blackout.

    Go figure.

Because unfortunatly it would seem that even the small amount of the core audience that would buy such a large toy still exceeds the the total amount that the much smaller collector market would and that a larger percentage of the core market would buy ROC Optimus than a Supreme classed Omega.

I don't hold out hope for many more new molds I'm afraid. Tho I wish we'd get molds for every character they've used.

If anything, I can see stores pulling down the Animated stock temporarily for the release date. Thus giving RotF stuff all the TF shelf space. Then after a while they'll put it back up, and quite possibly with a new wave of figures.

I've browsed this site before to look up information about the toys I buy for my son and created an account today just to answer your question.

Maybe I don't understand what you said because I'm an accountant and the father of a 4yr old TF fan, not a collector. The ROC Optimus is one of the best toys they've made for children. It took me awhile to finally get one for my son because they sell so fast in the NE Ohio area. The ROC Optimus is a favorite for a lot of young TF fans. The mouth moves when it talks, easy to transform, huge size, very durable, looks cool, and makes sounds when the arms move, what more could a child ask for??

Enough about how great ROC Optimus is, the best toy Hasbro made for children, lets talk about Omega Supreme. Omega Supreme is not a familiar name to parents that don't watch the show. Less name recognition = Less Sells.

In the world of toys, the majority will always be the parents. I hope this helps you understand what Hasbro was thinking.

And for anyone that was wondering, here's what my son has so that you know what i'm comparing ROC Optimus with:

Leader Class: Megatron, Bulkhead, Ultra Magnus
Deluxe Class: Jetfire/Jetstorm, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Jazz, Sentinel, Samurai Prowl, Snarl, Blazing Lockdown, and Waspinator.

To stay on topic, I hope they continue to sell the Animated toys when the movie comes out, I have no intentions on buying any of the Movie toys and there are more Animated toys I need to buy.

We badly need a constructicon 2/3 pack even though it'll never happen. These guys have been major players in quite a few episodes but still can't get any toys.
