They could have chosen to keep a beast mode scanned from an alien world or it could have resulted from confusion like with the Fuzors.

It's simple x transformer who was hanging around in the aincent times took an interest in stories and legends and thought it would be interesting to take on said form and see what would happen.. not something to hard to think up, hell I am half asleep and could come up with that on a whim. 

Flesh that out with some details and bam there ya go..

they were great back in the day, but with the feel and flow of the show need some more serious and darker names..

Stonewing and Labyrinth or something of that nature.

 

Fangry's just as good as any other name. It's just like Starscream's.

Well Animated had Dinobots that made sense, park animatics brought to life.
I think now they should have Grimlock as a Demolition Derby dinosaur and the other Dinobots as monster trucks.

Or they could be animatics again. Only way robots disguised as dinosaurs would make sense, really.

 

No, I think several of us have imagined a couple of believable ways for Dinobots to come about.

 

Prime is a lot less "realistic" (if I can even use that word seriously) than the movies, so there's tons of ways to introduce them.

I like the "Ancient Autobot warriors fighting on Earth who got trapped during the war" explanation. Fits perfectly with what's established.

Did you just shut your eyes and overlook when we stepped into resident cybertron and are going to be assailed by the DE virus infected ramdom corpsebots for the next 3-4 seasons..

I agree. I still like the idea (Wollstone I think it was you who suggested it) that the Dinobots are ancient warriors that were stuck on Earth since the war. Let them wander through the wilderness and help the Autobots when needed.

With that being said, after reading several posts in this thread about introducing new characters rather than the Dinobots I'm unsure which I'd want more. If it were a BW Dinobot type character though, sign me up.

 

hmmm. How about Grimlock as a dragon who has a BW Silverbolt's personality.As for a modern alt-mode;how about a train.Of course some might think it a knight morpher ripoff.
