Will the battle in Egypt be a homage to G1 in a way?

We all nearly know the final battle of the movie will take place in Egypt, but could this be a tiny homage to G1 too? In the cartoon all the big battles between the Autobots and Decepticons took place in a fairly barren desert area. Just a thought.

It would have been dull if all the battles took place in a city, that's for sure.

Well Bay does give 100% liberty to animators when doing battle sequences, and they're all gigantic geeks... sooo... maybe!

Egypt is pretty geeky with its pyramids and secret secrets. That and most of their gods were animals or people with animal like heads. they're supposed to blow up the Spynx too >8D

I think choosing Egypt is a G1 reference. There was a episode in G1 that Autobots(including Jetfire) and Decepticon fought upon a Pyramids for ultimate power.

    EDIT : I meant -''fought.

Gee thanks for reminding me, another idea stolen from G1 in used for ROTF.

But anyway, it proabaly is a reference to G1, seen as they were gonna make TF1's final brawl in the Grand Canyon, which was most likely going to be a reference to G1
