I believe if this is Bay's last film Optimus will not return after TF5. As for Megatron it seems Hasbro wants him back all the time. Lockdown proved you can have a villain that isn't a big name most fans are familiar with, and I'm all for new characters. But you never know, my idea can be wrong.
Unfortunatley No. Because of marketing and stuff we are stuck with Optimus, Megatron and Bumblebee forever. Hasbro will make sure of that.
Well not so much Megatron but definitely the case for Optimus and Bumblebee. Want an example just look at Robots in Disguise 2015, a show that doesn't feature Megatron at all. The most he got is mentions, the only villain so far has been Steeljaw along with other Decepticons and in season 3 Starscream is going to be the main villain.

Megatron and Bumblebee's last film? No, I doubt it. Especially considering Megatron seems to be back in full force this time. But Prime's last film? I could see them do that. Well maybe for atleast a little time. Maybe he dies and is resurrected a few films later. So there is actually some weight to his death this time. Who knows.
It seems unlikely. Paramount kind of fell into the same trap that Hasbro did years ago of building so much of the mythology around Prime and Megatron that replacements don't work very well. So I expect they will stick with Prime and Megatron until the film series fizzles out one day who knows when in the future. It's just something in human nature that makes everything else seem like a step down once a character has achieved a certain level of either fame or infamy. There were other Roman leaders than Julius Caesar, but he is one everyone seems to think about when you say Roman leader.
True. I may not be in the minority when I say Bay should create new villains for the franchise. Megatrons new design looks really great don't get me wrong, but Optimus has beaten him to the point where he should be scared of him by now. In the end it's up to Hasbro and Paramounts best interest though.
I mean, counting solely what's in the movies, Megatron beat the shit out of Optimus in the first film to the point of Optimus basically giving up and killing himself. Then he actually straight up KILLED his ass in the second. Then, yeah, he had to retreat, got killed himself, and their fight got interrupted for the sake of Mega-/Galvatron's plan later on, of course. But I kinda like the idea of Megatron being SUCH a badass brawler that he CAN'T WAIT to take another shot at that chump mf Optimus, lol. XD
