Perish the thought!!! From the screens that I've seen of this game... It looks good. Also the fact that it does not come out for a while yet, leads me to believe that they are actually putting some effort into development.

Is there a chance that there could be a good movie game?

I heard it got delayed because initially it was crap. We'll see how it turns out but I'm not holding my breath.

It's possible that it could be good, but I'd be skeptical untill I play it. How often has a Superman game been any good? How often is a movie game generally good? Think about that for a moment and then consider the odds that a game could be both a good Superman game and a good movie game at the same time. I'm not liking the chances.

Not to mention Golden Eye was awesome for the N64. Mind you it came out two years after the movie had come out but it still counts.

Also the Alien 3 games were good. Hell of a lot better than the movie.

Sorry to seem like a pessimist, but EA really isn't instilling me with any faith. The graphics look average, the gameplay looks like a direct plagiarism of Spiderman 2, and, well...this is EA. Electronic Arts. The people who said that if they had the Halo license, they'd make 3 of those games a year.

...ever played Batman Begins? (the game)

Say what you will about Superman 64, but that game was IMMERSIVE.

I felt like I was REALLY stumbling blindly around a room filled with poison gas.

Batman Begins left a scare for what could of been a potentially good movie game, considering the way EA was promoting it.

Well, it isn't the same studios at least...I think.

    I'm probably in a minority, but I liked S:TAS for PS2.

I'm thinking it'll probably be a good game, looks like a fun sandbox game. Hopefully there'll be some alternative costumes or somesuch to add to the play value/replay value.

Guys, I said "how often". I know that there are actually plenty of good movie games out there. It's just that the ratio of bad movie games to good ones tends to inspire the opposite of confidence. There's been one fairly decent Superman game too (the arcade game from Atari). The odds of a good movie game are low. The odds of a good Superman game are extremely low. That makes the odds of a good Superman movie game ridiculously low. It could still end up being a one-in-a-million surprise, but I wouldn't trust it until I've played it.

    Probably not.

Though it is interesting that they pushed it back to work on it, completely missing out on the movie release $$$.

Oh, I agree. Hence why my best rebuttals were a game that came out a few years ago, and then a few other games that came out 10+ years ago. :p

And, honestly, the gameplay shouldn't be SO much different from Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, as both characters are nigh invincible. If they can mimick Hulk, and then tweak the game for Supes (abilities, etc), I think they can pull it off.
