I am a big fan of the lambo-bots and I really want the new swipe, although I don't think I can pay the takara price :(
I'm not sure if they will release mp-10, and mp-11 soo..

Absolutely impossible to answer this question accurately this soon.

More not than likely however, unfortunately.

All we've seen is line art. The final toy may not actually be up to much.

Seriously? You didn't do a thing wrong.

We all get a bit worked up about this stuff sometimes, looking for information that just isn't available yet.

I would say it's likely in that more Masterpieces than not tend to make their way over here. The only mold we've skipped for sure is MP-5, the only others Hasbro hasn't released have been repaints and trailers. I would say MP-10 is virtually certain, MP-11 is probably not, and MP-12 is probably. But that's just one man's opinion.

I said no but I'd rather make an educated guess based on non clearance sales of MP from grimlock to rodimus. If those aren't selling the tru will drop them like a bad habit and the last few reissues.

I reckon it will get a Western release. It's got a wider appeal as a red Countach than Grimlock and Rodimus. Older collectors will buy because of nostalgia and young 'uns will love the alt mode. Win-win.

Depends on how the final product turns out, and whether or not a retailer can offer it at a price that's likely to sell. Unlike MP Roddy, where they were able to drop the trailer, there's not much Sideswipe could lose to keep the price down.

I have no idea when it's coming out. I couldn't wait and bought the Takara one when it was on sale (but still ridiculously expensive).

I'm just saying- it's Optimus Prime- it's a great toy; it's Hasbro- the company that sells Optimus Primes for a living. If it doesn't happen they should probably reevaluate the business they are in. The only non-repaint mold they have ever passed on is MP-5- a mold that is riddled with issues, both legal and technical. A very understandable pass on their part.

If Hasbro has nothing to say on the matter next month at Botcon I'd get a little worried, but not worried in a "it's not gonna happen" kind of way, but more in a "it's not gonna happen till next year" kind of way.

My total out of my ass guess? September.

Very unlikely base on the current trend for MP10

Not for a long time. i don't even think we'll see mp10 until 2014 for the 30th anniversary.

No, because Prime might have another red car out by that point and another red car would cripple the buying public with confusion.

Seriously though, just buy the Takara version and save yourself alot of anxiety over whether it will get a US release and scouring dozens of ToysRUs stores if it does.

MP Grimlock and Rodimus sold pretty well. So I'd think at least TRU would want it. Also in Sideswipe's favor is that it is smaller then previous MPs (about alternator size) so the price will be lower then other MPs.

At this point no way to know, i think there is at least a 50/50 chance at the moment particularly if they can list this at less than the normal MP price point.

Are we sure that MP-10 and MP-11 will never make it over here in the first place? I say wait until Botcon for confirmation. That should give us an indication as to what will happen with Sideswipe.
