Hello ,i have a question on Hubcap, do you think will he replace Bumblebee in season 3 shall Bumblebee die in the movies 1986 for Autobot minibots ?
I think he will appear shall Bumblebee die ,what do you think ?

I ask this because Brawn was replace by Outback,Huffer replace by Pipes,Tailgate replace by Windcharger in similar machine model after the death of Brawn ,Huffer and badly injury of Windcharger in the movies in minobots group .

Will Hubcap make a debut in season 4 since Bumblebee become Goldbug if the serial continue from rebirth ?

    Thanks.

Your topics act like the G1 movie is some living breathing thing and that it isn't a piece of childs fiction to sell toys.

Given the color in the toyfair catalogue and non-appearance in the cartoon, i'm inclined to think Hubcap was nothing more than case assortment padding.

On that basis, maybe they didn't put too much thought into him because they figured mini-bots are cheap enough to sell themselves, and they were too busy scrambling for new toys after pre-transformer molds ran out.

    Or maybe not.

I have traveled to a parallel universe in which Bumble Bee did die in the 1986 movie; I can tell you without a doubt that, no, Hubcap was never a real character in that continuity and thus did not replace the dead Bumble Bee.

    I dont think so.

Based on Hubcaps bio, which read like he's a slacker, I'm sure they wouldnt have used him.

And Wheelie pretty much replaced BB anyway.

Hubcap had no appearance in the cartoon.

I don't think "will" is the operative word here. It's "would."

if BB had been killed or mortally wounded in the 1986 movie its possible we would have gotten Goldbug sooner, although i am not sure if the mold was even in any stage of development at that point given that it was released in 1987.

IMO Hubcap is the HFTD version and not the BB/Cliffjumper mix up.

I mean he wasn't even called Hubcap in G1 anyways so why ask that. He's like Drift is, an later G1 addition.

I think you're confusing Hub Cap with Bumper. Hub Cap was a G1 toy from the 1986 Minibot assortment. Image:ToyFair1986-TFpage01a.jpg - Transformers Wiki

Bumper is a fan-named Cliffjumper look-alike that was never an official Hasbro release. He got his name and tech specs much later.

Don't worry, I get them confused all the time as well :)

    Sorry but your confused.

Your thinking of Bumblejumper or Bumper.

Hupcap was a mini car that was available in 1986.

Do you even know anything about Hubcap, or are you just judging him on his colour?

The repaints for the G1 minibots are not "replacements"... they don't serve the same roles or have the same personalities at all. They're just retools/repaints. Hubcap has NO connection to Bumblebee, and has a very different personality. He's kind of a jerk, so I doubt he'd be used as a main character.

    http://www.botchthecrab.com/archive/techspecs/autobot/1986/ts_hubcap.jpg

Now if you said Goldbug, that might make sense, since the Throttlebots really DO have strong similarities to some of the G1 minibots. Rollbar is a macho tough guy who transforms into a green landrover. Wideload is a complainer with an orange and blue construction truck alt mode, and metallurgical sensors in his arms. Chase is an impulsive, hyperactive, speed-obsessed red sports car. That's basically Brawn, Huffer and Windcharger/Cliffjumper right there.

Exactly. Wheelie is the "kid" in the post-movie series. Bumblebee might as well have died, for all the face time he gets. :)
