More than likely yes. It's Optimus Prime. It'll sell, hopefully. But it probably won't come with a trailer.

Tell that to the shelfwarming MP1 Optimuses, at least they were. They even started popping up in discount stores about a year ago. I'm not saying this Prime will shelfwarm, but maybe, and people would rather spend £20 on a Voyager Optimus than a £60 Optimus that kids aren't really that familiar with because that's not how he looked in the movie.

Oh, come on; I can safely say that the Masterpieces' primary audience most certainly is not kids.

No, it's fans that refuse to pay full price on anything and would rather wait to buy it on clearance than do anything to ensure further releases... Look at MP Skywarp. Nobody bought them because they were waiting for them to go on clearance.

That only applies to some people, but not everyone. For many, it was because we already bought the Takara versions upon release since there was no guarantee or confirmation of when/if Hasbro would release them domestically. Plus there was the fact that Hasbro's MP Prime & Skywarp looked like shit by comparison (in some of our opinions) with their overly cartoony decos. And in Prime's case, his lobbed off smoke stacks.

If Hasbro would confirm when/if they even are going to release these Masterpieces domestically AND not screw with the colors or molds, I'm sure a lot more people would happily wait for them AND buy them as soon as they hit shelves. But here we are again - yet another new MP and thread after thread wondering whether we'll see it get a domestic release.

i dont know the lasest movie prime comes with a trailer of sorts so who knows if it sells well enough it could justify mp 10 with trailer especially seeing as its just a trailer/platform. one can only hope.

I'll pass on the Takara $250. My Mp 1 is good enough...

I may buy a Takara Ultra Magnus remold...

I would buy this (without a trailer) as a Hasbro exclusive for $60.

agreed ^ i bought the takara versions because im a sucker for accessories and hasbro tends to lack in that dept but in these instances the high gloss finish of the takara release was why i bought them.while the domestic releases paint chips and fades over time my sticker sheet is safely stored for future use.also facts are facts higher priced toys at retail will always sell poorly at retail exclusive or not but in walmarts case they tend to go overboard.:drunk

Well lars, I point out that when you said it is out at retail you failed to say it was MP10,and not all the people bother reading all of the posts,so I just say its the Takara MP10 Optimus Prime out at retail In Japan Mostly, not the Hasbro version here in the US.

I remember reading something on the TFWiki about how the Alternators sold horribly because Hasbro did not confirm they would be getting US releases, so many collectors back then bought the Binaltech releases, and Yao Ming'd the Alternators a year later.

Since they were not current era show characters, kids didn't particularly gravitate to them, either.

So Hasbro, because it got the molds late and did not confirm their eventual release, ended up with a bunch of overstock and cut the line short. It tried to reboot it later, failed again for the same reasons.

He would look really weird without the trailer. Though from a cost cutting perspective, that makes sense.
