I know this isn't related to TFW, but I was hoping some of you had expereince with this. I'm looking to get a notebook and I am really interested in the new MacBook. But will it work with my already existing wireless network? To make matters worse, I have a Microsoft wireless router. And I know you can get Windows on the Mac, but will I need it to work within my network? Thanks for any info.

Just talking about a standard wireless home network right? Something that uses 802.11b or g? Then most certainly OS X will work with it. Macs have always used the standard 802.11 wireless protocols, but now they even have the intel network chipsets, so there should be no issues. If you have any other questions about the MacBook I'd be happy to help.

Yes, of course OSX uses TCP/IP as its primary communication protocol, there are no proprietary wireless standards used...and you can even do file sharing in a Windows networked environment...within the system preferences in OSX, under Internet and Network, you click the Sharing icon. Within the services tab you can click to turn Windows Sharing on.

You can then create a specific account to access the share, and you will be provided with the share path.

I have a Windows/OSX network at home, never any problems :)

With the sparse networking experience (1 time, 2 years ago) I've had with OS X and Windows, you should have no problems.
