I did... 20 bones for a plastic shell and a game? Deal. I only played the first three levels of Link's Crossbow Training... got two bronzes and a silver. I was holding it "backwards" to how I usually hold the Wiimote (wiimote in right, nunchuck in left) and my right wrist is hurting a bit so I gave it a break. My entire feeling is that the Wii Zapper... just isn't necessary. I was figuring at least that there'd be some motion control where you have to shake both units at the same time to maybe reload your weapon or something, but... nothing.
Is there any kind of line-of-sight calibration in the game? It seems to me like a gun that doesn't shoot exactly where you aim it is somewhat useless.
Guessing it sucks? Well, seems I won't be picking that up anytime. Though, that pistol looks tempting....anyone recommend the pistol?
I'll get it, and throw the zapper in my closet with all the other random, useless accessories I've accumilated over the years. I just want link's crossbow training.
Yes the game has a calibration feature. The gun fires exactly where I aim it, and I didn't even calibrate it.
I got it and love it. Played thru the first 5 levels of crossbow and even got my girlfirend to play a second game this week (1st was SMGalaxy). Also picked up Resident Evil, but only played it for 10 minutes or so, lots of potiential, but seems really story driven and didn't have the time to commit tonight. One strange thing was that the only place I could find it was Gamestop. Best buy said they had them in back but were holding them until the weekend. Circuit said the same.
I'd be tempted, but the only game I'd use it for is MP3 (I hate RE4), also, It doesnt look nearly as functional as the unliscenced Wii Handgun. Problem is, MP3 fires your weapon with 'A', so pressing the 'trigger' on the Wii zapper would just make you jump? Also, the way I'll have to hold it looks to make playing very uncomfortable. I do want the Wii Handgun though. Is there any way to change MP3's controls to switch the buttons for jump and shoot?
The TRU that I went to hadn't even put them out yet (at 2pm). I had to ask and the guy had to go searching through boxes. Still... 20 bucks (CANADIAN!) is a good deal. Glad to see the game prices coming down to match the US lately.
A new used game store opened in my area, which up until now have not existed shy of a pawn shop and a "used goods" store. True, Movie Gallery is running a "mini Gamestop" section and they seem to take trades, but their selection is lousy. Anyway, I finally got a copy of Link's Crossbow Training. They wanted $20 for the set(which I think some stores wanted up to $25). The game comes in that same awful cardboard envelope that Wii Sports shipped in. Too cheap for a real plastic case, Nintendo? Got the remote in the shell. Easy enough but no matter what you do, getting the cord wrapped up "perfect" is near impossible. The wrapping hooks still leave some leeway in the distance. Not played the game yet, was too tired when I got home.
i guess i'll be buying a case from the N store...and printing the cover....like i did with Wii Sports.
