Do you think Nintendo should develop some sort of Wii Scoring system similar to that of the Achievement/Trophy system?

Not really. I've heard of people going online just to get achievements, and expecting the ones that are there to have fun to pretty much put their game on hold to accomidate them. They would be ok, but only if achievements are given based on things that you can do by playing the game normally (i.e. not taking damage, beating the game on a higher difficulty, etc), and not stupid stuff like 'run a lap around the stage backwards' (not sure if that is an actual achievement in any game, but it wouldn't surprise me).

The concept is sound, as long as its handled correctly.

Don't be stupid. Casual gamers don't want hardcore stuff like gaming points.

Not just that, It opened up a whole new level of gameplay to things I wouldn't normally do in a game.

Yeah online achivements suck. It's why I never play lone wolf in Halo 3 everyone is trying to get their ninja sword (yes I'm a hypocrite).

Nintendo should focus on an acceptable online before they start doing achievements/trophies.

Naw, but it's going to happen anyway.

I'll only ever play Megaman and The Conduit on that thing anyhow.

i agree. people like to whine about anything. it's like people who whined about mario galaxy lacking multiplayer, or punch out lacking online. i really don't see what either of those games would benefit from such features myself. punch out games have never been multiplayer, and neither was mario 64 or mario sunshine. but still, apparently "in this day and age" people need such things to enjoy themselves. give me a break.

I consider myself hardcore and I like achievements, they're not necessary but they are fun. M$ has pulled it off really well, $ony is trying, but Nintendo just needs to avoid it right now. Maybe something to think about for the Wii HD that is rumored but I would like to see them steer clear of this. They do so well without them that using them will brand them a bigger copy cat than $ony, (and M$ for the "Avatars"). They can stay original and come up with something better.

    This. This very thing.

I mean how would they ever do it if I'm Z2CV3129H on one game T55P13W on another?
How would anyone even see my score?

I'd rather they focus on some way I can actually connect to other players on the few games that do have online.
