Only 3 retailers....would be nice if more retailers was included (Target, Fred Meyers, and Wal-Mart)....but this is great news whatsoever. Now i can pick up some cables at launch.

Awesome! :D  I cant wait to play this on my projector! Hopefully I can get sensor bar extension cable too.

BTW: I went to Gamestop earlier today and asked about the cables, but the guy there wasn't sure if they were going to be by Nintendo or 3rd party. Also, they had the Wii demo kiosk up but the Nintendo rep had not brought any software for it yet, so it was not plugged it. :p  And the Wii console itself looks SLICK in person. Very very nice looking!

I think at first 3rd parties will have the extension cable, but I can't imagine nintendo not having their own, they make a lot of money off accessories.

When they say GameStop, I wonder if this includes EB Games? I only have a few EB's around here (up north in my corner of Canada) with no GameStops, and it'll hurt me a great deal if I cannot get some component cables the day I pick up a Wii.

I think Matt from IGN said in his Wii podcast that 3rd parties are making the extension cable, and that Nintendo has not announced any plans for one yet.

For me its not too big of a deal though. My projector is not in a set room, and I just quickly set it up every time I go to use it, so its not the primary gaming screen. Just a nice treat when I want to have some fun and I have some good time off.

But the component cables I feel are a must. Cube games looked like ass when they were sent over composite cables and blown up to over a hundred inches. The games were playable, but some games (RE4 in particular) were almost too painfully muddy. But I should also note that I was the only one of the people playing that seemed to care about that.

Thing is, besides the projector, I dont have anything that fits into the definition of an HDTV, but I want to have the component cables handy when the set I play my games on (or any set in the house) gets upgraded. Until then, I'll just pull them out whenever I play on the big screen. So I think I'll pick up the component cables for sure, but I might see how much I can get away with without an extension cable for the sensor bar.
