BASES! I mean come on they are in high demand, Fort. Max, or metroplex, trypticon, scorponok, these all have high prices on ebay, takara could make a killing with these at reasonable prices, like they did with predaking, I do hope that these are to be part of the future unveiling next week!

Well... Fort Max was just out not too long ago with Korean RID.

I just wanna' see Dinobots with updated paint apps in place of stickers like some of the reissues have been getting.

Fort Max doesn't pass the drop test.(well, reason we won't see it stateside anyway)

    Metroplex/Scorponok/Trypticon etc. I don't know.

Omega Supreme they likely don't have the license for the Toybox mold. same reason we probably won't see a Sky Lynx.

The drop test doesn't apply in Japan.

And they've done the mold as Brave Max at least three times over there in the last five years (Car Robots, Korean Car Robots, and as a promotion for Robotmasters).

The Korean line isn't controlled by Takara though. Much as TF is licensed to Hasbro in the US, it is licensed to Sonokong in Korea. And the Robot Masters one was, as you say, a promotional thing not a mass release, and I believe it was confirmed this was unsold Car Robots overstock that Takara was using.
Still, I think the reason for the lack of base reissues is the size of the toys involved. These aren't small guys, they're pretty darned huge. Larger TFs have problems selling in Japan, so the odds of seeing these is slim, especially the "villain" toys. Just about the only time they might be reissued is around New Years, perhaps as a "New Years Special". Otherwise, it's not cost effective.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Metrotitan. eHobby could make that their exclusive to go along with the regular reissue of Metroplex. But Fort Max and Trypticon are doubtful simply because we've seen those molds used in recent years with Brave Max and Gigastorm, both of which were selling in Korea as early as 3 years ago.

Fort Max would be nice, but I'd be happy if they did Overlord.

i think new years reissues of bases would work out well, as long as they were in a reasonable price range..

Because Takara hates you. You specifically.

Or it's not financially sound for them to release them in the current market. Big items are expensive to produce, ship, and deal with. Bigger items don't sell well anywhere. It's hard to justify the purchase price when there are less expensive items out there. It's hard for a retailer to decide to carry an item when they know it won't sell well, or at the same profit margin as a smaller item.

Star Convoy *is* a base. As we speak, it was the second most recently reissued toy by Takara. So the answer is, they do.

Hey I shelled out 2 big-ones for Car Robots Fortress Max a few years ago. Remember the priece of inflation. Something like Metroplex could not be release for under 150 dollars now a days and the fan base whine factor is too high because they are un-willing to shell out the money for something like that. Example: Convention exclusives from a couple years ago. A lot of characters people want to see reissue have been reissued but on a smaller scale and as long as you wanted to pay more for them, the items are out there.

I got one word for ya: Cost.

Besides I'd rather have Victory Leo and Star Saber, either separate or in a dual pack rather than Fort Max, Metroplex, Scorponok, Omega Supreme or Trypticon (of course to be fair, the only one I don't have already from that list is Trypticon).

I can't see Takara charging more for any other base, even Fort/Brave Max, than they did for Star Convoy. Max is larger, SC is motorized. Frankly, SC sets a precedent for Metroplex, Max or other citybots.

Unless of course Star Convoy's sales were disappointing enough that Tak wants to focus on other size classes or other characters.
