Well, I saw Transformers 1 son DVD and and I comapring it to Revenge of the Fallen, I find the first one to be a better movie. Especially because the story goes better than the second one. Aloso, the second movie lacks some "wow" moments like the arrival to Earth and Optimus Prime´s transformation. Sam also sees to be less annoying than in the second one.

What do you guys think when seeing the two movies?

I dunno. I like them both equally, I guess.

    Cool story, bro.

TF1 was previously munched, eaten, digested and defected for the non-brilliant audience (which represents 95% of the world population). It's the dumb, old, boring, yet effective 'they came from outter space' thing. ROTF provides you with a trip deep into the TF mythos, bringing obscure references like the presence of Transformers in ancient Egypt (see Transformers Masterforce) which is amazing IMO.

Fact is, most people were too busy looking at the awesome CGI to pay attention to the story. ROTF isn't the most magnificent story ever, is just about your average TF plot present in every single TF comic and cartoon since 1984 and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Spectacle, fluidity of action sequences, and no false presumptions of depth.

It was a fun, exciting adventure.

The first movie, I felt that it flowed better, exposition and dialogue were better handled, the number of things I can laugh at reached the double digits, and the human-centric scenes were a lot less annoying.

The humor was better. While rotf had lots of laughs in it, a lot of the jokes were just stupid.

It's weird to me that some of the advantages people are giving TF1 now are the same things that were heavily criticized when it was released two years ago.

I liked both. I love the first, ist simply awesome and liked the second, but i have watched it only once at the theater, so I must have the dvd of ROTF to be able to decide which one is better for me, or if theyre equally good.

I can't agree with TF1 being better than RotF. It was very good and I enjoyed it enough to go twice to the cinema. RotF I went four times. Maybe I really do like RotF twice as much...

After some people needlessly slagged off previous versions of Transformers to try and big up the first Bay TF film, I wonder if they'll now stoop to slagging off the first Bay TF film in defence of ROTF. Would be an interesting irony of sorts.

Transformers 1 didn't have the damn 'Twins' in it.

    Or Jetfire.

And it was 3 days shorter.

Meh, I like both. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, and honestly both their stories aren't any better than your standarized Transformers plot. Soon people will be starting threads saying "Why Revenge of the Fallen was better" after seeing Transformers 3.

One thing that made it better for ME was the voices of the Transformers actually sounding like........ Transformer voices! Computerized, mechanical and all.

In ROTF they sounded as if there were no alterations whatsoever - like Soundwave without the vocoder (though we know they purposefully decided not to use it). I can't have TFormers sounding like normal humans with huge voiceboxes, it just isn't right.

    Things I liked about TF1:
    - Target group of the movie was my size (people that grew up with the cartoon)
    - Optimus Prime's character. Pretty well played, his weakness excluded.
    - Starscream's bad assness
    - Overall, the film never gets boring, Turturo scene excluded.
    - Awesome final battle. Made a lot of sense.
    - Scorponok's attack one of the bigger highlights as well. "What is that?" "... I don't know."
    - Sam's role as a boy which sees the TF conflict, and we get to see it through his eyes.

    Things I didn't like about TF1:
    - Optimus Prime getting owned by Megatorn
    - Transformers battles via melee make little sense.
    - Almost zero Decepticon emphasis.
    - Scene with Turturo is a bit tiresome.

    Things I liked about ROTF:
    - Transformers battles via melee make a lot more sense.
    - Soundwave finally joins the crew (and as a cherry on top, is voiced by Frank Welker)
    - Prime's debriefing with US government officials. I've been waiting for this scene ever since I saw the credits in the first film. It mostly delivered. Mostly.

Things I didn't like about ROTF:

    - The target group of the film being much younger than the first film
    - ROTF's inability to decide what kind of movie it is.
    - A horrendous amount of comic relief characters
    - Soundwave not joining the party
    - Starscream's cowardice, and butt kissing, without any poison underneath
    - The Fallen's role being served by Megatron
    - The final battle
    - Prime's "dirty Harry" style
    - Sam's importance in the campaign
    - The humping jokes (especially Wheelie's)
    - John Turturo's appearance
    - Any scene with Leon
    - Devastator's wasted potential
    - The twins (not because of racism, but because of stupidity)
    - Complete lack of comprehensive layout of the final battle (just a bunch of general shoot'em shots, that make little sense)
    - The minister of Defence. Oh. My. God.
    - Recycled scenes.

That's all I can think of now.

ROTF better, more explosions, more action, more disturbing, more emotional, more voilent, more...funny (not in terms of disturbingness), I liked the story in ROTF better, they both win with the score, and Sam was less annoying in ROTF for me, Ive watched the movie 100 times and I only heard sam scream "no no no!" one time.
