Having just watched the movie in it's entirety for the first time today I have to ask, did Cyclonus even speak at all?

 

I thought his tech-spec indicated an Intelligence of 9 vs. Starscream's 7.

 

When has techspec ever been a reliable way of judging these things?

 

Uh maybe Hasbro wanted Skywarp to be intelligent and Sunbow wanted otherwise.

 

I have to agree... why did Skywarp -- and for that matter, Thundercracker -- get reformatted by Unicron? They really didn't look like they received that much damage during the attack on Autobot City to have been dumped out of Astrotrain.

I think Cyclonus had a single line. I swore it was him who said the line "The Autobots have been terminated," as the voice who said it did sound pretty close to Cyclonus's voice in the third season.

If that wasn't him who said that line, then I'm going to have to say that he never spoke in the movie.

Then I guess that means Cyclonus never spoke in the movie at all.

 

We only saw him for about 2 seconds, so we cant tell how "well" he was.

I dont think so since Unicron seemed to care very little for who or what they were before.

I can provide 100% proof positive who was intended to become Cyclonus.

B] I never call the cartoon "silly", but I do tell others not to jump to easy assumption

His techspec numbers are notoriously swapped with Starscream's. Their numbers each fit each other's bios and Marvel profiles much better than the numbers they were printed with.

He also has a Rank of 9, whereas Starscream was printed with a 5, which is the dead giveaway.

Int. of 7 isn't "dumb as a brick" level, though, but eh.

 

That's exactly my point. The fact that he picked Bombshell to be Cyclonus was a random choice, more than likely. In fact, it could have been Kickback and Thundercracker who became Cyclonus and Armada and it would not have mattered to Unicron. He simply used their chassis for raw materials. Hence, by replacing Skywarp with Starscream does not mean that he would still pick Bombshell to be Cyclonus. Based on chance, and the fact that Unicron didn't care who they were, you can replay that scenario over and over again, and Unicron might not have picked Bombshell to be Cyclonus everytime. That is my point. The whole thing is based on chance. By substituting Starscream, you are assuming that Unicron still picks Bombshell to be Cyclonus, which may or may not have happened. It's a simple flip of the coin.

Maybe Skywarp didn't want the wounded to be thrown out and they threw him out with the rest of them?

 

To me, Skywarp was Cyclonus and Bombshell was his Armada. Bombshell then joined Kickback and Shrapnel, and became another Sweep.

Skywarp shoud've annoyed Starscream by teleporting back into Astrotrain after they threw him out. And then keep doing it when they kept chucking him back out.

Starscream: "I nominate myself new leader."

*bamf!*

Skywarp: "Okay, which git booted me out the ship?"

*Skywarp gets bundled out again*

Starscream: "I nomin-"

*bamf*

Skywarp: "Seriously, you guys are really starting to piss me off now. I'm not even injured."

Starscream: "Oh balls..."

 

Skywarp with a Brit accent calling someone a git would be epically awesome.
