So my girlfriend and her sister are huge fans of the BBC "Sherlock" Series and they are now claiming that the Sherlock Fiction and fandom are superior to the Transformers fiction and fandom. Obviously they are wrong. :ev:

I know this is rather pointless debate, but I think it will be fun. Help me out fellow Transfans! Give me some reasons why Transformers is better then Sherlock! :)

Does the sherlock fandom sexualize machines and come up with stupid things like "sparklings" and "interfacing"?

    Our fandom's pretty ******ed, man.

Are you TRYING to start a fight here? I can't see why you would even want to argue this.

Everybody knows the Sonic fandom is creepier.

    AH HAHAHAHAHA! Yes, this. :lol

When people in the Transformers fandom don't try to pit themselves against other fandoms in what can only be construed as a childish attempt to gain internet fandom cred/supremacy, and when Transformers fans can stop verbally sniping at each other for how individuals choose to enjoy the franchise...then you might have a legitimate reason to be proud. Maybe.

Sherlock Holmes and Transformers cannot be compared. They are apples and oranges.

That being said, I would love to see a steampunk TF series set in the Victorian era, where Nightbeat and Sherlock Holmes work together to solve crimes.

    Sherlock has what, 6 episodes?

Even if all 6 of them were excellent, Transformers has had more excellent episodes than that by accident over the past 25+ years.

So Transformers almost can't help winning.

On the other hand, Sherlock has writing by Steven Moffat. Maybe we should call it a tie.

You're thinking of a different Sherlock. The trhead-starter is talking about the current series set in the modern day.

    ..........BRILLIANT :D

As a whole I'm pretty sure Sherlock Holmes has had more hits than misses than Transformers has, you know, being as old as it is.

Although apparantly Sherlock Holmes created one of the first instances of what we would recognise as a fandom, including bitching to the creator for killing off a beloved main character.

This thread is severely deficient in Spartacus.

The Big O - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Sort of like that.

I'd be down with that idea, but given how hearts of steel turned out, I worry about the quality.

They're both long-running franchises that have brought their heroes back from the dead on occassion...

I think all the fandoms should have some sort of olympics. Then we can really decide who's the best

Does the Sherlock fandom start idiotic "My fandom is better than your fandom!" threads?
