it seems silver is the only color paint that has this problem. I just got classics prime as a gift, and there's already tons of spots that the paint came off just from my hands touching it, or where another part touched it during transformation. I've had to touch him up almost all day.

This seems to happen with any transformer that has silver paint. is there any way to avoid it? could I put clear-coat on it to help?

I haven't had any problem with silver paint, my Classics Prime has withstood plenty of transformations without so much as a scuff...

Yep, same here. Hell, he's fallen off the shelf I don't know how many times and not a scratch. It's weird how you're having problems.

    thats certainly odd.

as bad as classics prime's silver paint is, it's nothing compared to what I've endured with energon prime. I think I'll actually take pictures of him later to show what I'm talking about.

No noticeable silver paint problems on my end. Maybe you live in a place with alkaline air? :)

What the heck? Silver seems to be the one color on Transformers I can not get off no matter what I do to them. I once stuck a Transformer in Castrol Super Clean for three days and it didn't take the silver off. Took off everything else, but not the silver. I thought they were using some super-silver stuff that couldn't be removed by mortal man.

I wonder what's up with that?

The silver paint on my Classics Prime is still perfect, and I've had him for well over a month.

It's not the paint, it's probably coming off on the Clear Plastic, right?

Clear Plastic is a bitch for keeping paint on it would seem.

Yet, you couldn't take the paint off a planet key with sandpaper and brake fluid. You'd ruin the plastic before you'd get the paint off.

So why would they change paints between Cybertron and Classics?

I only have Japanese ones, but aren't they chromed? And the clear plastic certainly feels different on those.

Not really. The center of them is chromed (in this case the "claw"), and the chrome comes off instantly with rubbing alcohol, but the outside of them?

That stuff is hard-core nasty, plastic-etching lacquer-like paint. I've soaked in Castrol Super Clean and scrubbed with a wire-bristle brush it STILL won't come off. If they used that paint on Classics, it'd never rub off. In fact, I'd like to know what they used there, 'cause I'd like to use it on bashes to prevent rub-wear.

But you forget this is RL you're talking about , the self credit masta. Pictured you would've seen it coming after he finally donated.
He's probably already hounding the SMods for his donors badge :lol
    Oh I kid!

I think it's the only double sig we have here.
