Rub signs bring back warm memories of the early days. I do like rub signs better when they don't fully replace the faction symbol.

Maybe a rub sign on one side of the flip panel and a tampo logo on the other. Have the rub sign out in alt mode and then flip it to the tampo for robot mode. Could even be an Automorph mechanism to reveal it, sorta like how MP Grimlock's chest symbol clicks up during transformation.
At the very least I'd have been happy with something similar to what Universe Dinobot got. Three sides = tampo logo, rub sign logo, and no logo at all. Then you pick to display whichever you fancy in whatever mode.
I suppose though just slapping a rub sign sticker onto the figures is less hassle for Hasbro compared to giving every figure in the line a rotating wedge somewhere.

While I like the rub signs for nostalgia sake, I do not get the gimmick on the current Reveal the Shield line. Use the rub sign to find faction, then on the back of the package there is a giant faction symbol right next to the characters name.

I agree with the point that it is better for the vehicle disguise, but on the robot give me a true action symbol.

I don't really notice whether or not a Transformer toy has a rubsign.

Till this thread, I never really noticed people really hating the rub signs. I think there are other things to complain about than rub signs.

I buy Classics toys for show and comic accuracy. I hate rub signs. Give me one good reason why I need to have a big ugly black box smack dab in the middle of Bumblebee's chest.

    It's stupid.

I neither love nor hate them. I do, however, prefer painted symbols and usually move or remove the rubsigns.

I could appreciate that. I moved Tracks' rubsign to the rear window where it blends in nicely.

You need one of those big ugly black boxes smack dab on Lockdown and Wasp for show accuracy. ;)

I like the new rubsigns that aren't squares; they blend in better. I agree, though, with what a couple of people have said: rubsign for alt-mode and tampo/sticker for robot mode.

You know whose rubsigns bug me? Powerglide and Beachcomber. They're upside-down in robot mode.
