i just had a thought if Hasbro is able to release Movieverse Legion Soundwave, Evac and Mirage during the Prime line, then why cant the try to release the Movie trilogy toys under the RID Subline?

Do you think Hasbro should "try" to release them under the Prime toyline or not?

I'm sure this question will be asked at BotCon and answering with some generic answer.

I think you may see the deluxe released under Prime or TF4 line, the HA Soundwave prolly TF4 is its only hope.

Considering stuff like the movie trilogy line was likely canned because retailers have cooled on the movie line as a whole, I don't see them as being too receptive to the "new cartoon toyline" getting a bunch of movie stuff slipped in just to appease a few thousand fans.

Not to mention that Hasbro has to pay a licensing cost to Paramount for using stuff that appears in the film.

As long as it doesn't detract from the rest of the line.

Um, Legends Soundwave came out under DoTM packaging.

    Also, No.

    Movie is movie.

    Prime is Prime.

They can throw in two legends. Not 3 deluxes, and an HA.

PRIME does not have a HA subline. Soundwave won't fit.

PRIME already has a dlx Soundwave and Wheeljack. Going by hasbro's PR answer to animated jazz years ago, they don't want the same characters out in the same classes at the same time, and they weren't speaking about the same line at the time!

    That's kinda cheap...

Fine. They can throw 3 Legends in, but not 3 deluxes and an HA.

    No, because Hasbro aren't retarded.

Prime and the Movieverse have no connection whatsoever. End of discussion.

We know the tooling exists, and Hasbro usually doesn't like to waste their invenstment into molds...odds are they show up as filler figures for early TF4 waves....

...so we can miss all new figures at the END of the TF4 figure run :p

    Fixed :D

And keep the movie toys away from Prime. That ship has sailed. Hope they get put in Generations. If they don't sell that in your country, you'll have to buy online.

Fuck this. I do not want to do DPCI searches at stores and possibly have movie toys come up as part of the in-stocks.

    No flippin' way.

No. tough shit movie fans. If any unreleased molds got shoe horned into prime they had damn wellbe the missing FE assortment.

Movie fans gotta sit it out until TF4.

Many of us G1 fans had to learn to let them go, and accept the G1-verse isn't the main stuff anymore.

When Beast Wars came and went away, we had to let it go and move on.

When Animated ended I felt bad, but sadly it had to go.

I liked the movie line, these toys did a lot of good to the franchise in general but it's time to let it go (at least until/if TF4 comes along).

Prime is the new thing, and it seems to be here to stay. There are many that arrived to the fandom with the movies, and it's all they know, so it's their first time seeing their toyline die, but such is the world of children's toys.

Given the subtitle to the line is "Robots in Disguise" instead of, say "Transformers Prime" I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Wasn't that Hasbro's answer to why Universe Ratchet had to be put at the end of Universe 2.0, because Animated Ratchet was out? I can't see how that would apply to Jazz, since he didn't show up until midway through the toyline IIRC and his colors were different from Movie Jazz, which was not the case between the two Ratchets.

Hasbro's been doing repaints of older Legends figures for newer line characters for a long time. This is nothing new.
