I have a similar idea.
I think the reasons are visual ascetics.
In a cartoon it doesn't really matter, Earth car or Cybertronian land vehicle it all has the same rather unreal factor because even with good art it's still a part of your mind going not a real car just a drawing of a car. Just no way to get all the tiny details that would make your mind go real car.
But with the movies we have real vehicles so any alien vehicles stand out more than they would in a cartoon. I think there is also a factor of it seems like real work to figure out a way to make it look like a robot turned into a real car than it is to make it look like a robot turned into an alien vehicle. Just too many cheats you can make when you don't have to turn into something people know.
What if they make vehicles could resemble Cybertronian Alt Modes ?
Because Bayformers Cybertron alt modes look like ass. For the most part.
Take 2007 Megatron for example; a complete lack of imagination was put into both his robot and jet mode. Megatron looked more like a genaric kill bot than he did a ruthless Decepticon leader.
His new alt mode is friggin awesome though
That was not his Cybertronian mode though. That was his protoform mode as stated in a behind the scenes video.
I think the alt mode works better in a fleet, same vehicles etc.
It doesn't work quite as well when you've got a jet and a tank. Like the jet will obviously get to it's destination first so it's a bit stupid at times.
Pfffff, Barricade's Mustang alt mode is quaint by United Arab Emirates standards:
united arab emirates cop cars - Google Search
Yeah well that's not what I meant lol. Show me a cop car ANYWHERE that has To Punish and Enslave on it, has a death spiked Spoiler on its back end and has a front end push bar like he has?
So what you're saying is that the art department lacks talent. Okay
No, I'm saying Megatron from the 2007 movie did.
I wouldn't be surprised if the design team forgot all about Megatron and had to rush out a design for him at the last minute. It would explain why he looked more like a robot Swampthing over anything else.
Well when you say something like "a complete lack of imagination", I have to disagree there.
On the contrary, Megatrons cybertronian design was well thought of.
....Generic robo SwampThing was well thought of? Riiight... I'll consent to this, in ROFT Megatron had a unique look to him with his murder arm and awesome tread feet, and in DOTM, Megatron had the most striking look to him. But 2007 Megatron; to call that silver turd of a robot well thought of? Well that's is quite a claim there.
I mean it's your opinion, and that's fine. But personally, boring and generic does not win any points with me.
that would be cool seeing more of their cybertronian alt modes
Bay waste he's whole time with money than with creative ideas.
