So I thought that when Namco added Darth, Yoda, and Starkiller to the Soul Calibur series, I was like oh thats ccol, but the inevitable Star Wars fighter we will get outta this lil partnership will be bad ass! But who dropped the ball on this???? We have no good Star Wars fighting game. Why!? Especially with fighting games making a "comeback".

I feel that the Soul Calibur/ Tekken style would be the best route for a Star Wars fighter, and with the expansive universe to choose from, the roster would be BAD ASS.

    Jedi/ Heroes
    Luke Skywalker
    Obi Wan (old)
    Obi Wan (young beard)
    Qui Gon Jin
    Anakin Skywalker
    Asuka
    Yoda
    Mace Windu
Han Solo (would play like Stryker from MK)
    Chewbaca (grappler)
    Shaak Ti
    Kit Fisto
    Plo Kloon
    Ki Adi Mundi
    Commander Rex
    *Princess Leia (hidden character)
    *Lando Calrissian (hidden character)

    Sith/ Villians
    Darth Vader
    Emperor Palpatine
    Count Douko
    Asajj Ventress
    General Grevious
    Cad Bane
    Boba Fett (Jango alt costume)
    Darth Maul
    Darth Malak
    Darth Nihilus
    Bossk
    Aurra Sing
    Storm Trooper
    *Droid Trooper (hidden character)

Call that shit Star Wars: Galaxy. WINNER. WHat do you guys think? Why has this NOT happened?

I don't know, Soul Calibur's whole gimmick is that there are different weapons for each character, mixing the gameplay up quite a bit. Pretty much all of the Star Wars characters just use lightsabers.

I threw Tekken style in there too because that was based around fighting style. And honestly, for any weapon themed game, YES its about the weapons, but fighting style also plays a part, and Jedi/ Sith all have different styles of combat. Not to mention different manipulations of the force acting as projectiles. Throw on some different colored lightsabers, battle damage, have voice work from the movies/cartoons in place. How would this not sell?

They tried a Star Wars fighting game already, it flopped.

Also there's already Star Wars Galaxies, so Galaxy would be a little close

With good reason. That game was pretty bad once the fun of using SW characters wore off.

I'm always surprised as to how there's never been an actual Boba Fett game since the first one with Jango was very good and succesful for them sales-wise

I still love playing Bounty Hunter to this day. I would absolutely support a sequel featuring Boba Fett, that would be amazing.

Also, using the same Soul Calibur engine the Create a Character would be insane! Finally a Wookie Jedi or Sith. Cyborg bounty hunter. Man. Also making Starkiller the final boss would be cool. Jaba the Hut in the background and his club as a stage would be sick. Man, so much potential for greatness. C'mon Namco and LucasArts, let's make this happen. Hell, even at the expense of having to put JarJar in it....

Versus shitty cash-in fighting games that're most possibly done half-assed? Yeah. I'd love an awesome SW fighting game, but even that SSBB-clone doesn't look that great to me.

I just can't get into fighting games with Star Wars characters. I mean, this isn't Mortal Kombat. You need free roam!

I want that game sooooo damn bad.

Also, I would of loved an Original Trilogy game with the gameplay of something like the Jedi Knight PC setups. Something where you can capture the essence of the movies in a 3d world. We have the games where you can fly ships(Rogue Squadron). The arcade game got it nice with the piloting, but you need to be able to free roam a lil more. Shadows of the Empire for 64 had the right idea. But we need a major update to the OT.
